POLL: What seed type do you prefer?

Fems for me. Regs is ok, but culling sucks. Never autos

Tried plenty but I don’t have any girls in my stable that came from fems

Fems for ease. If I had the room and time I'd pheno hunt regulars.

I love fems. I usually get most of fems from New Brunswick Seeds

I grow regs so I can make more seeds without reversing a plant. It sucks when I get 5 females out of a pack of 5 seeds.

Fems for me. Plant count limits don’t allow much room for males.

playing around with clones now. Would like to just run 2 in flower and two clones in veg. Then clone the clones and keep a perpetual going.
just need to find two strains that keep me satisfied. But cracking new beans and trying different stuff all the time is fun.

regs only
if theres no other way to get a strain i want, i will run fems begrudgingly. i can only recall one instance of this over the past few years
there will never be an auto of any kind in my garden ever for any reason

Agreed! I personally don't care too much but I like to breed them myself because I'm on the smallest grow budget in the world!
Fem are nice because you know it's not going to be a male.
Autos are not really my jam but I can say surprise autos aren't usually pleasant in my experience.
Once I popped 5 bag seed from the same batch and they all stunted and flowered early. Fine since they were all females but not when I was planning on veg another month.

Whatever happens to be the genetics I want. Popping a handful of regs aint no thang. No auto's though lol

Dig it, keep doing what works for you. Variety is good!

IMO, auto's are lower quality due to Ruderalis traits, but in fairness I dont keep up with them. I do know auto's have improved over the years, but so has photos.

More importantly though, photos are more controllable. We can veg for long periods of time, clone and flip whenever we're ready. Commercially, it would be the only way to go.

Yeah I enjoy the different types from day to day. Sometime I feel like I get stain blocked if I have a zip of one kind and one kind only..

Lower quality by how much? I’d be lying if I said I’ve had some top top shelf in my life..

I have autos running now that have me going “wow” a lot due to size and time but again. I am new.

I am also popping some Sour Cookies and Double Tap photos (I’m assuming). Maybe I’ll get some clones off them?

Fems... and then hunt down phenos.

I prefer fems but I grow auto's to have different smoke in-between tem grows.
No male's ain't got time for that nor the room.

What does being a noob have to do with growing auto's? They're no easier than growing photoperiods. The only thing they do is flower without changing the light hours. Nothing else about them makes them any easier to grow. In fact they are quite often a poor choice for a newer grower due to the fact that they do initiate flowering on their own. Newer growers can often have issues and auto plants don't allow time to correct those issues before they start flowering which leads to many having small flowering plants with minimal yield.

I don't grow auto's and if you do then I wish you success with your grows. But there seems to be a misconception with the term "Auto" being somehow easier to grow and therefore a better choice for newer growers. They aren't.

And during VEG, train those 2 girls to become "wide loads" before they go into flower. Nothing like pulling nearly 1 lb. every 9 to 10 weeks.
