He's this guy

"We are going to continue to find ways within the administration to fight legalization and the notion of legalization," Rahm Emanuel, a key Clinton drug-policy adviser, said yesterday. "We're against the message that the initiative sends to children. Marijuana does not come cost-free. It is illegal and it is dangerous."

This was from 1996 BTW.

Cook County, Illinois, has high property taxes. What do you do if you do not like to pay high property taxes? List your home as a charitable foundation, thus exempting it from county property taxes. His neighbors pay just under $7,000 annually. He pays nothing.
The Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust was formed in 2002, when the Chicago lawmaker was first elected. The former Clinton White House aide and his wife, Amy Rule, are its only donors. Emanuel was an investment banker after serving in the White House.

I'm torn on this. I do not like high property taxes either and he found a loophole. It's legal. When it comes to Democrats and taxation, this falls in the category of "Do as I say, not as I do."

Here's the full story. It's a conservative blog so take it with a grain of salt.

Sounds like he could be a snake...maybe not, but I sure don't think his stance on Cannabis is fair or logical.

After mulling ot over I decided that appointing him white house chief of staff might be a good thing on the IL medical marijuana front. If he's of chief of staffing he'll have to give up his seat needing a replacement who may be in favor of medical marijuana. Time will tell.....

Maybe, maybe not. Do keep in mind that Federal law trumps State law. The role of Chief of Staff is to be the POTUS's "right hand man" per se. It is the role of the Chief of Staff to act as conduit between him and Congress. He/she controls/manages the flow of information that the POTUS receives. It is also expected that the Chief of Staff to advise the POTUS regarding policy and political issues.

I'm talking about him vacating his seat in order to take the white house job. Someone is going to have to fill his chair and it might be someone in favor of medical marijuana.

At the state level...Understood. I still don't trust the guy, albeit at the Federal level, whispering "Reefer Madness" quotes into our POTUS's ear if ya get my drift.

Based on the IL constitution, such an act like cannabis reform the house would have to revisit the constitution.
...and the re'writing bill didn't pass nov 4th.
At this point, it would need an large majority with a crisis like attitude.
Never has the subject even come up, and the nov 4th bill had nothing to do with mj reform.

This is but is not funny, very bittersweet... Our local news did a story tonight about local firearms sales after the election. Most Gun stores in the tri-county area have sold out of rifles such as SKS, WASR10(Chech AK47) AR-15's, 30-06, .308's etc.

Me personally I don't give a damn what skin color the President is, as long as his actions prove he's for the people. People do need to realize though that with a DEM president and House, you are going to lose a shit load of Constitutional rights over the next 4 years. If you don't believe that and want evidence, look no further than a google search for
H.R. 1959, Home Grown Terrorism Act. There went the first Amendment right there, and your Congressmen voted it through. Bush signed it, Obama supported it.

I'm not a Dem or Republican, I'ma Libertarian. I proudly wear a Globe and Anchor, and took an oath to defend this Nation against ANY Enemy Foreign or DOMESTIC. To uphold the constitution, And I will keep that oath.

Careful there my friend...Us Libertarians are not looked well upon in these waters by some. :)
That's the truth! They fear us more than the Republicans. They think they understand us, but we don't fit the profile of their preconceived notions.
As well you should, and allow me to say "Thank you" for your service. I once served and my son currently serves. I salute you.
That went right past me. :dunce:

Globe and Anchor sounds like a brand of beer to me. Then again, I was in the green machine when I served.

Thanks for your service dvsdsm.

Thanks mi compadres',

It's just I am puzzled on his maneuver of not taking Hillary, was this a ploy to pull away from a Bilderburger influence which is a good thing, or was that set in stone with his service on the Council On Foreign Relations?

Hope for the best prepare for the worst.

Yes the subject has come up, and yes it was voted down. Out of all the yes votes, only 1 came from a republican.

Feel free to investigate before you claim it has never even come up.

IL Senate Votes No On Medical Marijuana Bill

The Illinois State Senate voted against SB650, that would have allowed some patients in Illinois to have access to medical marijuana. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on May 11, 2007 ("Illinois Senate Votes Down Medical Marijuana Bill") that "The Illinois Senate, by a narrow 22-29 vote, turned down a bill that would have allowed doctors to prescribe the drug to patients suffering from painful, debilitating conditions such as cancer, multiple sclerosis or epilepsy. 'This is disappointing,' said Sen. John Cullerton, D-Chicago, the sponsor of the bill. 'I don't think people realize how popular this is in their districts. This is overwhelmingly supported.' Only one Republican, Sen. Dave Syverson, R-Rockford, voted for the bill, while 21 of the 37 Democrats voted for it."
According to the Post-Dispatch, "Much of the testimony in committee and debate on the Senate floor revolved around personal stories of chronically ill patients who illegally use marijuana to relieve their pain. 'I don't think sick people should be treated like criminals,' said Sen. Mike Jacobs, D-Moline. 'This is a choice a doctor ought to have' if there's demonstrated benefits of the drug for patients. Cullerton said he would keep working to get a similar bill passed before the Senate is scheduled to adjourn at the end of the month. Only 29 senators — less than half — voted against the bill. Persuading the four senators who voted present and the four who did not vote would give Cullerton the 30 votes needed for the bill to pass."
