are you guys serious?

this time the cop was actually doing his job. HE did not pull out a gun because dude had a camera, he pulled out a gun because dude was ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF OTHERS. he is a COP and has every right to do so. dude would have sped off otherwise. you can see he was being chased and was cut off, by what looked like SEVERAL vehicles. plus he had a MARKED TROOPER on his ass. appears to me like it may have been a PURSUIT.

"stop, or i'll shoot!"

seriously, this is the worst cop hate thread ever.
An off duty police officer with a gun is not doing his job. If he REALLY wanted to still bring people to justice while off duty he would of called in the plates and left it at that. But no, he sped as an off duty officer, brandished a firearm as an off duty officer, and reckless driving as an off. duty. officer.

What it looks to me (if you watch the extended version) the biker go for a speed run, random off duty douche bag cop with nothing else to do on his day off because he's a loser sees the speeder and calls directly for back up (behold the crown vic sitting behind him at the stop) and gets out of the car after establishing contact with other officers. How did he not get charges for the laws he broke?

The biker should of dipped out as soon as the Malibu's door opened. Guess it was his first time being at the barrel end?

this seems to be a debate, you are getting your threads picked apart because you were so fast to denounce this as worst cop hating thread ever or whatnot :p

i'm still replying because you've stated that it's your opinion it's not fair but not come through with any good reasoning for it. i've given you reasoning for it being out of order, and you try and ignore it or twist the meaning

for what its worth I dont think the cop pulling out his gun was that huge of a deal, over the top a bit... but even in the picture posted earlier in the thread, the officer is pointing the gun towards the ground, and in the video, the biker starts to back his bike up to position himself to run.

What PISSES me off, is he got in trouble for video/audio taping the cop. if it wasnt for video cameras.. all kinds of crooked ass cop shit would have never been noticed.
The raid was a bit excessive as well...
im curious, and maybe I just missed it in the article.
when did they raid his house, the next morning after the incident? or was it after he posted the video on youtube?

a cop is a cop, whether chasing a murderer or eating dinner. my cop friend/ex boss mows his lawn with his gun on his hip. if i fired up a doobie, he'd fuck with me. he is a sworn officer, to uphold the law at all times, not just when he's clocked in.

yeah, there are quite a few cop threads that are much worse.
the one I have is pretty sick https://www.rollitup.org/toke-n-talk/330012-cops-shot-2-different-dogs.html
What you fail to realize is that Fdd thinks that the cops were only wrong for not removing the children out of the room before they shot the dogs. It had nothing to do with the pot!!
j/k

Just a cheap shot at ya Fdd for being a kittyluv'r. :puke:

You know what I find ironic about all of this? If it WASN'T for the video, I don't believe the charges would have been dropped. That's the ONLY way a judge will believe any of us over what a cop has to say. One-hundred percent of the time. Especially when we're already in the wrong for breaking the law. Irrigardless of how "minor" we think that law might be. (ie, I think speeding 5mph over the limit is very minor. Even 10 over I don't consider a big deal. However, you are breaking the law if you're doing it, and you could get pulled over for it.) So if you're already breaking the law, the judge has one less reason to believe you over the "officer of the law".

And I would state my rights and tell his off duty ass to stay off my propertai! If he's upholding law and breaking it at the same time... wtf kind of officer is he?

If he had lights on his car and his badge on his waist... hey, no problem here. Another speeder busted. But that citizen with a firearm broke more hefty laws than the biker.

cops are never "off duty", only "off the clock". you have to understand this to get what i'm saying. they are SWORN IN. this isn't a schedule, it's a rank.

if an off duty cop is in a liquor store and a robber walks in, does he go outside and call it in?

i once got pulled over and TICKETED by a "transport officer". he was taking a prisoner from one jail to another. pulled me over for weaving thru traffic. chewed my ass out because i passed him doing it.

Lol well no shit that's a robbery, hell yeah you'd react.

But to add to another speeder by chasing after him with no lights? Then showin' off a gun with no sight of a badge... wtf are you doin' mr. sir?

If you don't have lights, you're not stopping me, let alone keep up. The biker should of floor'd it and threw the bike into him

That cop was just a dick head. Who took it way too far on both encounters.

It wasn't my intent to for this to be a "cop hate thread". I was trying to educate people about the fact that you can be arrested for video taping a cop (something I was unaware of) and being a fireman for 15 years I worked with plenty of them.:peace:

thanks doc.. I feel as though I learned something today
Good. I watched part of the video you posted. Wow is it long! I don't dislike cops per se. I dislike cops that abuse their power. I felt like this was an abuse of power to be sure but I was really troubled by what the guy was charged with. That was alarming to me. When I googled this story I got all kinds of similar stories popping up. It's messed up when a private citizen can't even videotape a public figure doing his job. Free country my ass!

This is fucked up.

Do the police ask you if you mind being filmed when they raid your house with a camera rolling?

i do believe that you would have to sign a consent paper for it to be on tv..... at least without blurring your face

stop or ill shoot...

so this cop is not going to use tools at his disposal to catch the rider....
license plate and radio/phone to call it in.

waving a gun is not right here.

if the moto guy had decided to run the cop down and the cop got 5 shots off... 3 hitting the moto guy and 2 missing and hitting some bystander is it worth it?
better yet... guy is fleeing and all 5 shots miss hitting other vehicles... it was not the moto guy creating the hazard... its the cop waving and firing when there would have been no need.

cops are to draw weapons when in danger... not to force people to do what cops think needs to be done.

its easy for cops to resort to pulling their weapon... and they arent always justified when doing so.
