Sorry if this is commen knowledge, but is there an average weight loss percentage in harvest?

If I harvest 10 oz WET and trimmed is there a general rule of thumb to what the dry weight will be, like 70% less or anything. I only weight wet trimmed and was asked what it was dry. :dunce:

well it depends on when the last time you watered was. if you watered the night before, you could loose 70% of the weight. i try to not water 2-3 days before i harvest, and i lose about 25% of the weight, also, its quicker dry time.

the key thing, dont harvest early. small underdeveloped buds are gonna be small, whether they were watered recently or not, they will end up tiny.

My plants could not go 2-3 days without watering, dont really know if there is any science to that or not,but usually you get just under half the wieght you pulled down.so if you pulled 10 oz.you will probably get about 5 oz.This isnt an exact science either but every batch ive pulled is about that.My last grow i pulled 14 oz. fresh,by the time it was dry i had 6.5 oz

how would you even know that you got 10 ozs wet ? Did you weigh the stems too ? Just weigh it after five days and you cut the buds off the stems. You get what you get.

a full plant just cut and hung
i loss about 80% of the weight if there if there is a lots of buds on the plant min
sorry maybe my strain but never kept more than 30% of wet weight

if i chop the plant / trim it / cut all the buds off the stalks 10 oz wet will be 2-3 oz dry dont matter if i water 10 mins befor chopping or if the plant dont get waterd for 2 days

i still don't think you will hit more than 35% of your wet weight
at best
but i have never trimed it up that well before its dry
alway remove some stems after it is dry

yea i agree, i try to not weigh wet nug. its just a disappointment. focus on optimizing yield as it grows and drying/curing properly

Approx 80% of your freshly cut, "wet" buds is water weight, and to get an approximated idea of final yield just multiply your wet weight by .8, and the number u get will be PRETTY close to what it will weigh after trimming, drying, and curing is completed... This is how I get my projected yields, and it is usually very close, if not right on the money...
