hey guys just about finished my attic grow room and i was wondering what size carbon filter, extraction fan and intake fan i should get.
the room is about 7ft x 7ft x 6ft (6ft tall but the roof slopes off to about 4.5ft each side) and i plan on having 8/9 plants in there, but i have no idea what size extraction i will need :?

any advice would b much appricated :D

Your space is ~294 cubic feet(not including roof slope) so I would aim for a fan that is at least 700+ CFM

yea need to clear the room evry 1-3 minuts ..

I would say minimum a 6" and a filter to fit (is able to take the flow or more)

all depend on your tempertures .. is the attic hot .. you might need more ..

but I for sure wouldn't go with less then a good 6 inch ventilation ..

sumthing like this

maybe more/two if temps is high ..

btw

it will also deepen on your light you use and if you use a cool tube/hood ?

is it a 1000W with out cool tube you will need more .. is it a CLF grow in a cold attic you can do with less ..

if you have a Etc. one 1000W with cool tube I would most likely use one alone for the tube and one to filter the room ..

its not that hot, about 28 deegres celcius with my 600wt hps with hood.
any ideas on prices aswell :)

I pay like 130$ for my 6" ventilator .. similar to the one on the pics ..

and like 40-50$ for a filter to fit ..

if it is in a attic and you have a way to vent it out of the house .. (chimney or similar) you dont need a filter ..

and about intake .. just make some passiv holes if the attic is air tight .. if not let it sug air in wher it can .. move it around with a swinging fan ..

normaly a passiv intake need to be 2-3x the size as the vent .. etc. 6" vent = a 12-18" inch hole/s

yeah im going to send it out of the chimney, just worried about the smell as i live in quite an enclosed area lol and also my attick is quite dusty and full of loft insulation so i want to keep it quite sealed (i have built a room inside the attic btw) hence the intake fan

well then I would mount the ventilation at the chimney .. blowing air out .. with a tube at the other end .. connected to a carbon filter that hangs over the light/plants ..

so it sug hot air through the filter and out the tube/ventilation/chimney ..

and then just go for the 2-3x intake holes near the bottom of the room (cool air travels low .. hot air raise up)

if needed you could buy enough tubeings (cheap if you look around) and use em to "collect" fresh air/co2 from outside/another part of the attic ..

no ventilation needed here .. its pure physics .. as air is pulld out .. it will automaticly make a underpresure and sug in air from any hole/opening ..

just make sure you got enough holes to so you dont have to mouch underpresure .. but also enough to keep just a littel .. so no smelly air escape to the attic ..

with your temps and light I would still say a good 6 inch ventilation schould do the job ..

6" w/filter as mentioned.....doubt your room is 100% airtight so passive ventilation will work fine, air is really, really really small and you just wouldn't believe the tiny spaces it can get through...........:)

makes sence lol. if i made 2 intake holes how big would they have to be?
