hey people im looking to add some additives and stimulants to my girls so they have everything they need and then some!

i just dont want to induce slime or bacteria that will fuck up my roots!!!!

right now im only giving them the techanflora veg formula (grow, boost, calmag, sugar daddy)

i was thinking of adding some fulvic acid for nutrient uptake? maybe some beneficial enzymes to clean up. is there any good root stimulants for DWC?

my rez temperature is constantly 60-66F so pretty cold for good and bad bacteria to thrive, is this right?

how about humic acid? i heard is good for roots but it stains them, so i wouldnt wanna do that so i can know if the roots are healthy or not.

Check out Heisenberg's Sticky at the top of the DWC/Bubbleponics page. I've heard it works wonders.

I think he is talking additives.. like silica, vitamin B, Bloom boosters not beneficials like the hesienberg tea.

Yes that res temps are good, but I would run some sterilizing agent or beneficials also too.

He also mentioned beneficials and root stimulators, which is why i made the recomendation.

use pondzyme for the beneficial and with technaflora the sugar daddy is the only additive you need. start simple.

yea i was thiking more along those lines... i have the basic NPK nutrients and some carbohydrates with the sugar daddy....

i bought a bottle of fulvic acid which will help chelate some nutrients and help with nutrient uptake.

now i wanted to add something to help the roots grow bigger and stronger...

what does silica and vitamin B help in? any brands you'd recommend?

what sterilizing agents could i use? i have a gallon of 32% H2O2 but ive read good and bad things.

Silica helps in strengthening the plants cell walls which results in a healthier plant, it helps it to fend off some insects and fungi, it makes sturdier stems and branches, and also helps with leaf positioning which improves photosynthesis, and increases heat, drought and cold tolerance. Dyna-Gro makes Pro-TeKt. It's cheap, effective, and ph perfect.

No worries man happy to help. :eyesmoke:

As for vitamin B supplements, i vaguely remember reading something about it but i cant remember...it was here on RIU tho. I did a quick google search and from what i can tell is that some say it helps with transplant shock, some say that it doesn't. Here is an excerpt from WSU's website:

"Vitamin B-1 (thiamine) is an important component of tissue culture media, in which isolated plant tissues can be propagated. Its use for stimulating root growth in whole plants is not supported in the literature and one study reported that root growth was greater in the control treatment (water) than with thiamine. Plants in the field manufacture their own source of thiamine and it is therefore unnecessary to add any additional levels. Many fungi and bacteria associated with plant roots also produce thiamine, so it’s likely that healthy soils will contain adequate levels of this vitamin without amendment."

You can read the full report here:

Honestly for the price of B52, i wouldn't buy it unless i knew for sure that it was amazing. Most of the additives that companies market specifically for marijuana is just flash in the pan IMHO...Not to say some don't work wonders, but most of it is a marketing scheme. If you wanna try out some different additives from different companies without having to buy them all, go to their websites/send them an email and request a sample. Say that you are doing a comparison of many products to find out which products work the best for your garden and MOST of them will be happy to send you a free sample.

In stead of b52 I prefer to use Humic Acid and Superthrive. Here is the breakdown of B52 below.

i really wanted to use humic acid too but i read it stains your roots.... idk how i feel about that tho cuz id like to look at their true color to be able to tell if there is somethign wrong!

In all honesty my friend. The only benefit of additives, is to the manufacturers bank accounts. I could elaborate on the subject, but will spare u my rant. If your getting good results now and plants are healthy your good to go. If your looking to get better yields. You wont find them in a bottle. You may want to dial in your environmental controls, up your lumen out put(new bulb or higher wattage), or find better genetics. These things will give you better results then additives.
