veggy stage but no sign

hi i just put my seed in my pot on haloween and now ist the november 3 but when i put in the seed i didnt sprout it first i just put it in the pot how long should i wait to see it pop out the soil cause i think that my seed is dead or not growing i have cfls on it 24 hours a day can any of u pros tell me what to do

Sprout it before planting. Put it inbetween paper towels, moisten, fold over and then put into a baggie and seal shut. Put into a dark, dry place and wait a few days. You should have seeds that have sprouted.

when you start in plain dirt it will take longer to sprout

also depending on how deep you placed the seed will also determine the length of time untill it sprouts

but typically in dirt it takes 4-7 days more if it is deeper

after 4-7 days you can always scratch away at the surface where you placed the seed carefully and see if you see anything
