So i have been doing some digging

I have been looking for the best organic soil recipe for a little while. The one that comes up the most is subcools super soil. I think I'll run with that But, I have noticed that there are two that I can find one from 2009 and one from 2014. Sub posted a new recipe on youtube with monster gardens. Any pointers or advice about organic soil?

Original recipe (2009)
  • 8 large bags of a high-quality organic potting soil with coco fiber and mycorrhizae (i.e., your base soil)
  • 25 to 50 lbs of organic worm castings
  • 5 lbs steamed bone meal
  • 5 lbs Bloom bat guano
  • 5 lbs blood meal
  • 3 lbs rock phosphate
  • ¾ cup Epson salts
  • ½ cup sweet lime (dolomite)
  • ½ cup azomite (trace elements)
  • 2 tbsp powdered humic acid

New version of recipe (2014)

  • 8 large bags of a high-quality organic potting soil with coco fiber and mycorrhizae (i.e., your base soil)
  • 33lbs + Earth Worm Castings
  • 2.5lbs Fish Bone Meal
  • 2.5lbs Bone Meal
  • 5lbs high phosphate bat guano
  • 5lbs blood meal
  • 5 cups oyster shell
  • 3 cups kelp meal
  • 3 cups alfalpha meal
  • 3/4 cups epson salt
  • 1 cup dolomite lime
  • 2 cups azomite
  • 2 tbsp powders humic acid

I am more then likely goning to go with 2014s mix. There was a report that came out yesterday saying rock phosphate leaves a shit tone of hard metals in your cannabis?

Awesome video. I hate to argue with Subcool, but fish bone meal does have Ca in it.

I buy a reamend kit once every 3 years. Thats about it.
Nice. The Craft Blend is good stuff too.

Should but you have to let it cook for 6 weeks to be worthwhile. But i dont use subcools method. Its good for small spaces but if you got the room just run bigger pots.

Would that also work for the super soil I would like to use??
I really like the Craft Blend. I use it to amend my no-till soil, and as a top dress.

I would get some EWC or vermicompost too. And when I add vermicompost as a top dressing I mix pumice in with it first to lighten it a bit, but perlite will work too, just not last as long.

Good to know thank you all for your inputs.

Growing this GG#4 outside in the ground. True organic just water to see how she does. There use to be chicken coops and some vegetables grown in the spot I placed her. Fingers crossed for some fertile ground
