As far as I know there's no strain that you tell maturity by the pistols, or by a timeline, it goes by the tricomes, you want to harvest when about 50% of the tricomes are milky and 50%of the tricomes are amber, also depending on whether you want a higher thc content or cbd content, more amber tricomes equals more cbd content due to the thc in the tricomes breaking down, more milky tricomes equals higher thc content, as long as the tricomes are fully developed
A couple things.
1.) If you are growing a strain from your clones that you have experience with, you should be able to determine when it is ready by time, as long as you are consistent in your environment and feeding. This is how commercial growers do it.
2.) YOU may wait for 50% of your trichomes to be amber(degrading) but personally, I prefer ~5-10% clear, ~%5 Amber, ~85-90% cloudy. Not saying you are wrong, but that is my preference.
3.) Trichomes are only 1 aspect, I like the buds to look done, calyx swollen, pistils receded, proper coloring(hard to explain I guess).

Agreed, I was just giving more a generalized answer, like I said in my post, that it depends on how you want it, but to get a good amount of both the thc and cbd that you want in a medicine, that would be the best to go by, but, like I said, depends on what you want in your medicine

if you want to harvest the trichs, i'd highly recommend doing it with dry ice and a 110 micron bubble bag or silk screen. Its VERY simple, you get product instantly, and in abundance. You can then use that to make your butter or oils
What's 110 Micron bubble bag? How many microns are trichs?

Does it work because the ice makes them less sticky?

Thanks,

I've made 3 batches of butter. First one-serving was 10 ml. Second one-serving was 15 ml, because I over decarbed it, third one is 5 ml because practice makes perfect!

Check out my press...SmartSelectImage_2017-08-10-21-27-56.png

This lady is currently ONLY in her 5th week of flower...Basically all the hairs have turned amber and are receding, though the lowest most nuglets are still a bit white.. I am not sure what kind of seed this is, is it possible that it is an Auto and is nearing completion? Or is this normal? Either way...What would be your choice? She is in Canna Coco, and I've been feeding her Canna A & B, little bit of Rhizotonic through out her first stages off life. She is still currently being fed, which I am not sure if I should be doing, 8ml of A and B per 2L of water. THANK YOU ANYONE AND EVERYONE THAT REPLIES IN ADVANCE!!!! The hairs will turn red when they die and really shouldn't be used as an indicator to whether or not the plant is finished. The trichomes are what you need to be looking at to determine whether or not plant is ready. Get a magnifying glass to be able to see the crystals. The plant is ready when the crystals have developed mushroom heads (they will look like mini mushrooms) and turned amber in color. If they havent gotten the mushroom heads yet or they are milky white in color they are not ready.
