Single Seed Micro CFL Auto AK Grow

So. Took almost a year long break after my first grow, moved and now I'm ready for the second one!
So it's a micro grow, kind of stealthy. Here are some pics of my box(made it today):
20150216_183846.jpg 20150216_183909.jpg
As you can see it's a microwave cardboard. Nothing fancy, but should work for now.
2 fans for outtake, a fan for air circulation. There will be 4*26Watt CFLs(1 cold white, 3 warm white).
Oh, and the hole in the bottom is for plant to grow through :) Since I don't have much space, the pot will be outside the box.

I'll grow a single plant there, AK Auto, which I assume is autoflowering variant of AK47. Put it in the water today:
20150216_201839.jpg
Hopefully it hatches fine. It is feminized, so it should also be female.

Bought some SOIL today. It is not actually "soil", but there is also coco and some slow-released fertilizer. There was no clean soil or coco or anything else. Just this nuted mess. Even more troubling - it does not say what exactly is there. So we'll have to wait and see how we do with it. Probably start without nutes and then see.
Fertilizer I've got is orchids' fertilizer 7-7-7 with microelements and stuff. Should work fine.

That's it for today. If anyone looks here by chance - I'm open to suggestions, feel free. My main concern now is how not to burn the plant with nutes.

Micro-update

Seed cracked after a day in water, then for 2 days was in the wet towel, sprouted a taproot and just now I put it in soil.

Box seems legit, your fans good. So, the pot sits under the box and the plant grows into the box. Well, once the plant grows sideways I am sure you understand there is no removal of it from the box. Unless you mod the box with a cut away that can be replaced. Hanging light looks a bit sketchy to me. Be careful, fire will not help your plant. Make sure you are plugged up to a decent surge surpressor and grounded outlet.

Hot soil will work fine. You already know to go easy on the Nutes especially in the beginning, so..... My first grow was in MG potting soil and MG Ferts and I have never done as well in HEMPY or DWC even with fancy shmancy high dollar hydro Nutes. Now I'm just going to use Maxibloom and the lucas formula.

Anyway, looks like you know this is a ghetto grow so just go easy on it and try to get you a little goodness out of your limited budget grow. Your already thinking so I think you will do just fine!

Good luck!

I do realise it'll be unremovable :) but I don't plan on moving it until the harvest! The hole should be big enough to water through and that's good enough for now.

week 2 update:
So, she seems to be growing at a good rate, it has been 8 days since she sprouted, 2 weeks from seed:
20150301_142629.jpg
I added a little bit of fertilizer to the water I've been watering. I actually put a full dose of it, but since I only water in very small amounts I think it's ok.
Here are also readings from the thermometer:
20150301_142643.jpg
It is a constant reading with lights on - 27 degrees C(80 Farenheit) and around 30-40% humidity. The temperature is probably a bit high, but it's only gonna get hotter here near desert. Hopefully it will not slow the growth, otherwise seems fine.

Also added two 3000K bulbs, so now there are 1*30w 6500K + 3*30w 3000K, summing up to 120w and around 5900lumens.

So after adding in some light temperatures got crazy high, around 105°. So I added an intake fan to the bottom and moved the box to the balcony, where it's much fresher.
Everything seems good now, temps are back to 75-77°. and humidity, which got extremely low, gone back to around 40%.
The girl herself looks unimpacked by this, probably because she's still in her growing stage.

Day 17
20150305_184715.jpg
Just amazing how much difference in just under 24 hours.
Added some sand on top of the soil to prevent fruit flies. Worked last time!

Also I promice not to update every second anymore...

Week 3 update:
Everything is mostly good, she keeps growing and develops nicely.
20150309_173731.jpg
It's been 3 weeks from seed and 16 days since sprouting. last couple of days were really hot and dry here with temperatures up to 100-105°(35-37°c). It might have caused this:
20150309_175000.jpg
There's this slight yellowing on the two very bottom leaves. This might either be some nute problem it had some time ago or the heat-stress? I'll keep watching the leaves, hopefully it's nothing.

Hopefully will see sone pre-flowers in a week or so. Also the stems are a bit purplish. See the next post for pictures

A closeup, no yellowing on the top leaves, which is good:

And a super-close up, notice how a stem looks a bit red:

I didn't know AK had purple genetics 0_0

Week 4 update:
actually it's 27 days from seed and 22 days from sprout.

I overfed the plant and she got nute burned. Here is a topic about it.

Sad :(

Here is how she looks now:
20150315_202102.jpg
I choped the most burned tips. They were basicaly dry as paper. Also picked a few bottom leaves, which also looked bad.

I know she does not look very, but hopefully I'll not make any other mistakes. She's been flushed to remove any nutes, that might have still been present. For now there's nothing more I can do but hope for the better :(

I like this grow a lot, I love watching grows that are this simple and easy.. You may have inspired me to add something like this to my current outdoor grow. Those CFL bulbs arent doing too bad!

Thanks man! CFLs seem to be underrated at the moment, but work really good in small spaces!

And just to follow up on the previous post, which is kinda pessimistic here are a few nice pics.
Some pistils showing up:
20150316_000701.jpg

And in general new growing leaves seem nice and healthy:

Starting to smell as well! Soo gooood :weed::sleep:

Small update:
It's day 32 from seed, 27 sprout.
She seem to have recovered from the nute-burn from a week ago and looks gordious:
20150320_172012.jpg

She grew all the way up to the lights, so I put her below the box just like planned
20150320_171616.jpg
This gives her another foot+ to grow up.
She's coming around 7 inches:
20150320_172054.jpg
That's it for now
