Hi sorry to bother Fish.

But I have another seedling thats sprouted, cotelydons haven't opened but wait till their open to feed right? It emerged this morning.

Thank you dude
Yeah dude. Feed them until run off on around day 4 or 5 when the cotyledons have opened and make sure you use 1 liter plant pots or smaller then 1 liter plant pots is fine to start them off. Start your feed off Very very low. Don't add too much feed to start with.

Ok understood, just in a solo for now. Im doing half strength nutes prolly aroumd 400ppms tonight when light turns on. Greener color starting to come thru, hope ilI didn't lose any time and or can keep this getting stronger. I transplant in a couple weeks, this is day 7 or 8.

You can transplant right now, and it can already handle 1.0 EC feed. I think people just rather not transplant a finickey plant that barely has enough roots to hold media together when transplanting so they wait another week. Soil growers do that too.

But in coco you can just feed from day one sprout in the cup or just plant it into the next pot from the start. I do the cup because it is mobile until you pot it. It isnt really needed. Neither is a dome if you are using one. Heres a pic of a seedling day 7 transplanted.

I cut the cup twice and around the bottom with just a thread of it hanging on and tape the bottom back shut then time of transplant just undo the tape, use fingers to further the slices of the cup into halfing the cup, pot it and slide out however you will.

Understood thanks Medi, so your saying better to transplant earlier rather than later? And not wait a week...and when you say 1 EC that like full strength maybe 700 800 900 ppms right? Nice thanks for the pics, im debating half strength (450ppm) or full strength (850ppm) later when light is on....sounds like full strength all the way. I will remove the dome and hang the light.

I hope to transplant next day or two to a 1 gallon fabric pot if thats alll good...probably will use some Mycojordan mycorrhizae as well.

1 EC is 500ppm on 500 scale. You can leave it in the cup for another week but the plant wont signal to itself to growth spurt until you up pot size. Autos could benefit from the one week to final container or straight in final container because those growrh spurts make most of the veg structure in an auto in those 30 days.

A photo period it wouldn’t matter as much unless you want maximum growth in shortest time. Getting it under a good veg light asap would help speed growth. Myco fungi isnt really needed in coco because you are providing nutes in form of salts readily available to uptake by plants so it will just grow mycellium in it which isnt needed.

I actually did that my first coco grow and mycelium was growing through the fabric pots. They just arent needed, I hear mycelium actually doesnt like salt fertilizer at that.

There is seemingly no transplant shock with coco, it actually should growth spurt from it. So the myco fungi wouldnt help with transplant as a new grower would expect. Heck theres a debate just on that, most of which debate that transplants always induce growth spurts rather it is auto flower or not.

Sick pictures and set up by the looks of it mane. I'm curious to see what your plant day 14 after that transplant looks like.

How long can I use a T5 light when vegging before I can put the auto outside?

Thanks medhead

Thanks! Yea I am journaling everything so I will have pics. They usually get a growth spurt and look big week by week. First true leaves span out a bit to show for it. If it is an auto, it will flower automatically by day 30. I don’t know anything about growing outdoors, only did that one time. Is that what you meant? When to move outside?

I would move them outdoors soon as they are big enough, like a few weeks but I am not sure, I would ask outdoor growers. I think it depends on your whole setup, what you are trying to do.

Gotcha, yes this is a Guavalato auto from Loud seeds. Yeah I planned on transplanting then moving it outside or doin both at the same time. Ok will ask others, should be fine once in its final pot but ill make sure. Appreciate all the input, photos were easier lol

Yea no problem, seedlings are fun and easy to grow, just water it till runoff daily then feed regular feed once a day in veg and twice a day in flower. If pots still getting dry then that means feed an extra time that same day.

I forgot to mention if your seedling is stunted and doesn’t look like ours here by day 7, just keep feeding .5 EC feed until it is ready for transplant or regular 1.0 EC feed. It happens, popping beans, every so often they will be stunted for a little bit longer.

You can hand water but auto feed is nice, it will do the work for you but if it dries before you can hand water it, you may have to auto feed it, that happened to me or else leaves die from too much dry back. It gets bone dry over night in flower.

Mad info haha thank you boss. Feel like it needs a little more dryback before i feed it again. Im doin every other day but sounds like I may need to be daily now. I noticed a little serrated curling and couple yellow spots i think may be from light too close so i raised a cm or two to see if I see a change.

Its growing pretty quickly nonetheless its on the 3rd node, slight breeze for an hr or two to get the stem sturdier. I am removing the clone dome today (figuring how to hang my t5 light). Transplanting to a smart pot 1 gal (fuck it Im just gonna finish in a 1 gal) next couple days.

Appreciate it once again Medi, thank you for taking the time.

Here is the seedling about Day 10 since sprout.

1 gallon isnt a bad size, people grow monsters in less than a gallon. I use 3 gallon but am experimenting with 2 gallon and eventually less. I think t5’s can be pretty close, like 3-6” away.

That pic looks like the coco is dry a little. Even if it is not I still practice the mentioned to keep medium in check, just a mini version of what is transferred to a bigger version in a big pot with autofeed which will dryback as roots grow into the media and uptake water faster.

Salt build up/EC spikes, under watered, mold/algae/bacteria developing. My solution is sterile with pool shock or h2o2 to prevent that. Also makes the resivoirs for autofeeding clean and long lasting.

I was feeding 5x a day in flower. With new conditions I am wondering if I will feed less this time but at least twice a day is what a lot of people do because that is a lot of time for coco to dry back in warm conditions and plants do get thirsty in flower. That and what I just said about keeping media in check.

You could get away with dryback now and later, plain water for first month. I just follow a more common way of practice with coco to get the same optimal results.

People do the opposite and it still worked for them. So I cannot exactly say this is wrong and that is right. You may or may not end up following something similar but that is it just about.

Coco does great indoor but people do use it outdoor but it can mess with consistency and have to bring all this equipment outside which may not do so well in warm temps so hand water it probably will be.

Understood, I'm thinking I'll water daily here on out. I feed today, I'll keep the .5EC, take dome off, and raise the light a little and see how it responds. It honestly looks lime green not a dark green not sure why I think because it is just starting its uptake. I overthink things lol, will keep you posted for sure, keep crushin it!
