Reserva Privada OG Kush

Just started some OG Kush 2 weeks ago. Recently I have been reading that over the past couple of months Reserva Privada's strain hasn't been up to par. Some argue bad genetics, could be they lost the parents or something else. From the impression I got, they are more of a collective than a seed company right? Correct me if I'm wrong. While others say its getting the plants dialed in. But there are a couple reports of loose, airy buds and sometime turning purple.

I need to know if there are any things I need to look out for such as it being a light feeder. But how well does it handle day-night temps as that was a explanation for it turning purple. And are they're any phenos I should look out for? I've search for it but there doesn't seem to be much info on that.

I can easily tell when my RP OG #18's are going to be dank. It's all in the leaves. Light green, pointy leaves always point to the airy stuff. Dark green, slighty rounded leaves give me the dank. Also, the plants with the airy buds don't really like to bush out. Two colas always seem to take over. I got 2 pointy and 1 rounded in flower right now. Let's see if I'm right

The same thing they say about the parents of Chocolope and Martian Mean Green. How 's that and DNA and Reserva keep loosing their mother plants???

how can og kush be airy? i dont think its possible.
The original wouldn't be, but if they don't have the parents anymore then there's no telling what the phenos will turn out to be. They could use the same genetics, but without the exact same plants, too many variations could come out.

The pheno I got wasnt dense like other og I have seen. It was also much much hairier. Not alot of crystal formation.
Smelled like soured dirty laundry. It would absolutely hit you like a hammer but 30-45 minutes later I want to go to sleep.
I have another that I got as a freebie. I HOPE I get one of the better phenos from it.

I am not fan of the RP og....2 phenos that I saw..one green, one purp...both good smoke but not outstanding..too leafy ...too much stretch in veg..even after topping a couple times..yield is below average.

Same here... to be fair I only grew out a couple, so could have just been unlucky beans, but one of them was just constantly sickly and nute sensitive - I ended up cutting it a bit early because just about all the leaves were gone and I needed space for healthy plants (everything else but the OG plants turned out great). The other one didn't have quite as many issues but was very stretchy and super stinky to the point of being a turn off. Hate the smell. Buzz on both is just ok. I've heard great things about the OG #18 and my OG Sour Kush grew fantastic (huge bush with early frosting), though I had to cut her down early in flower due to a grow shutdown. Won't be getting these beans again, though I have heard of others who have had better luck with them so I'm not going to condemn them.

oh yeah, forgot to mention the flowering time blows!....way too fucking long to finish...pick another strain is my advice.

My Rp og was trippy smoke. Only grew one seed from a pack but next grow is the rest of them. But I did have problems in veg but I know that was because of me. Seeds are over a year old so not sure if that means from a better batch of seeds will see I guess. Couple pics from her. Lil leafy but still was trippy shit everyone loved it.

After posting those pics ehh ya buds didn't look that great. Pics were from 6 weeks though.

To be honest..if they named it something else, I would have been fine with it and moved on and would not have grown again....But when I see OG kush..I think top shelf.....and it isn't..I expected the yield to suck all kushes do... but the slightly above average smoke..poor yield and way too leafy and stretchy ..just a poor example of a REAL og...it takes 11-12 weeks to flower outdoors. A 8 foot plant that has been topped a dozen times should yield around 12-16 zips...expect 6-8 with this leafy shit.

The PE I grew about 6 years ago was great bag appeal...big yielder ..just not a great stone...pretty good but not great...They may have made it stonier since then.

Yield wasn't bad on mine for the plant size/time vegged. The buzz was just very mediocre and the smell was not appealing.

Nice shots Colon, thats what I expect OG to look it. Well considering everything, I still want a great Kush strain. Anybody have a suggestion for a consistent strain with strong potency? Maybe even a Chemdawg strain since I think the hunt for that lead me to OG.
