Outdoor Aeroponic Cloner

Built a cloner, based on youtube video's. They all used them inside. First day outside, I popped a circuit breaker, and most fried. Should a cloner be placed in the shade for a week, until some roots grow??

Should some large leave by left on the clones, till they take root. Also, I have the timer running every 5 minutes, for a minute. Should that be increased to every 2 or 3 minutes, till they root?

Thanks!!!

why you would put an aero cloner outside is beyond me. cuttings need very, very little light to root. the res will get too hot. you will invite bugs inside. 1/5 is perfect.

I try to use sun whenever possible, and do not have an indoor setup, at this point. Would 2 4 foot florescent tubes be enough light? Will probably just move it to the shade for now. How long should cuttings remain in cloner? Was hoping for about 6 inches. I am going to do an outdoor vinyl fence setup, with the posts rotated 45 degrees, and net pots every 6 inches, alternating on left and right sides, and more space (adjustable) between rails.

Have 2 metal halides, an HPS, and an LPS sitting in damp basement since 1992. You had mentioned having ballasts flame out. How bad was the fire?? How tall of flames and did it go out quickly??

yea the fluoros would be enough. I'd imagine that direct sun is too hot for clones since they don't have any roots to suck up water!

Leave them in there at least until they're rooted. How long after that is up to you. PEople grow plants from clone to flower in aero setups, so it's really just a matter of how big your cloner will allow them to get. At some point after rooting you'd have to start adding nutes..

Once they started to burn up, I added some stuff to the water, so they could repair. Rooting hormone, super strive, root 66, technaflora strrive, and a tablespoon of miracle grow, to 10 gallons. All in very small quantities.

yea just keep em outta direct sun and you shouldnt have to worry about that.
indoors with the t5 would be best though. You want a mild climate and constant, low light
