New Pest in Hawaii, please help identify

Got new pest in Hawaii. My buddy has it on his plants and doesn't know what it is. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

They Bore into the stem. Not thrips.

Here is a closeup. Does she look familiar?

Did they promptly get a neem bath?

Don't know....kill them anyway, go over kill that's a bad infestation

Could be a broad or russet mite. I second the neem treatment. Get on a schedule of treatment for a bit and get through the crop.

It is neither of those things

Are they making holes in the foliage as well?
I’m reading an article and it sounds like flea beetles.
