I want to start a hempy grow using 100% Perlite, and the Lucas Formula. I want to know if the Lucas formula is all I need for the entire grow? I keep reading I need also H202 at 5% and Cal-mag plus? Is this true? Also how is the end result in regards to smell and taste? Also is hempy 's yield way more than soil grow?

Unless you're an experienced grower, don't use H2O2 for anything except sterilizing media between uses. Adding it directly to soil or hydro requires a good knowledge of the plant and the system you are using.
The Lucas formula has enough calcium and magnesium for your plant to thrive under normal conditions. Less than ideal conditions, especially pH swing, can reduce the plant's ability to utilize available mineral nutrients. A calcium or magnesium deficiency would likely be the result of less than ideal pH.
If using coco, you should add or pre-treat with cal-mag because of coco's ability to withhold calcium and magnesium from the plant. With perlite though, you shouldn't need any cal-mag.
Hard water likely contains calcium and magnesium as dissolved solids. An overabundance of calcium and magnesium can also be a problem. GH makes a hard water-micro for use in these situations.
Some people may advocate adding an additive when flushing, or other supplements for bloom stage, etc. Most of these work fine as long as they are used minimally in a solution that is already tuned in to pH and tds correctly. A lot of these additives will cost you a lot of money, and add a small bit of yield.
Bottom line...
The Lucas formula will give you everything the plant needs to thrive, for a cheap price and with an easy learning curve. Additives later on may help. But I would suggest doing a successful 100% Lucas grow first before trying additives.
Hempy is a great way to grow good quality, high yielding plants with a small root footprint, with a lot of room for error.
I also feel that hand-watered hempy buckets on a small scale is enjoyable, because you spend a bit of time each day watering your plants. It helps you to notice problems in your plants, facilitates visual diagnosis of plant problems, and is just fun to do for a person who enjoys caring for plants.

Id also add. Start off doing 100% Lucas formula no additives till you get it down. Yield's will be great. But when you want to start adding additives be sure to do at least 1 plant 100% lucas to compare them to, It helps alot. My biggest yields ever were with a cheap 2 part bloom A 1-0-0 B 0-3-6. I foilor sprayed with nitrozyme i think weeks 4-6 and my bugs just got huge.

I completed a Hempy Grow using the Lucas Formula, and I ended up needing the CalMag. I tried to get by without it,, cause I wanted to just have a simple KISS Method, but No Go,, Needed the CalMag somewhat early in, and just kept using it all the way through.. Now mind you, I did not necessarily use it at full strength in every mix, but just could not get away without it using the Lucas Mix.
I would also have to say that H2O2 is a bit unnecessary.. I used it in my hydro runs, but only when I had to. Don't really see a need for it in Hempy's.

I use bleach at 1-2 pipette drops per gal for general maintenence.Hydrogen Peroxide is good too.
I use tapwater,and only a pinch of Epsoms salts for extra Mag for the hell of it.
If you use RO water then Cal/Mag should be kept on the side,just in case your setup requires it.

Hey peeps,
I've been doing research (searching for that witch already was discovered). Here is my opinion, its been influenced heavily by Lucas Formula and Cannastats. Using a 5 gallon bucket with air and General Hydroponics It would cost less then $31 for nutrients start to smoke. That is if you do the first 2 weeks and veg for 4 weeks changing nutrients every week. GH micro is $12 a quart and GH bloom is $10 at my local store. I suggest getting two bottles of bloom and one of micro.
