Lumatek Blow Out

I bought a 600w 120v e-ballast about 3 months ago and the damn thing just gave out on me. A week ago, I had to buy a new bulb because the 600 I had in it, melted the outer casing. So I Got a Hortilux Super HPS and now the ballast when out on me. Does running it on super lumens have a bad effect on it? Anybody else have this problem? How fast are they at exchanges? Seems kinda odd only 2.5 months for the solarmax and 3 months on the ballast.

Ok when and check the receipts and I had them both since April 23rd so chop off about 1 month off that timeline.

That fuckin sucks..feel for ya. No Home Depot or something where you could get a HID to tide you over till you get a replacement?

I got a Buddy who's going to lend me a 1000w MH for the time being. Not Ideal, but I don't want to lose them all.

well if you had done your research your shit would be fone right now because you would have known that the 600w hortilux have been having compatibility issues. perosnally i would call hoprtilux and get a new bulb because the one you had must have been old stock. and i hope your lumatek is still under warranty, but if not.. i would call anyways and tell them thier ballast got killed by a hortilux bulb that supposed to be new stock.

Hortilux bulbs are known for not workin properly in digital ballasts. Reason being: the firing sequence in the digital ballast is almost twice as fast, that's why there's a less warm up period and also why you have to replace your bulbs faster. Now I don't know for 100% that it is this particular thing causing it. But that's why I stick to my magnetic ballasts.

the hortilux 600w bulbs DO NOT have issues with e-ballasts , they fixed that a year ago , and now the 1000's are fixed too .instead of hortilux try ushio , i switch a year ago and havent had a problem , prob cause they made in germany .try running it normal to see if it works ,the super charge doesnt work great as for e ballast if its a lumatek , you can return it to shop when u got it , its under warranty . they should just replace it for you .

What's with all the spam this week?
Wondering the same thing. Nobodys wants your cheap ass, commie made POS. Anyways, its a new stock Hortilux with digital ballast safe on the front if the box, so I dont think thats the issue. My buddy with the 1000w said to check and see if there's a breaker on the ballast and see if it was tripped. Anybody know anything on that one as he doesn't have any experience with them?

I just bought a 600w lumatek ballast with super lumens :s I wasn't planning on using the super lumens anyway but i sure hope the ballast doesn't burn out my bulb after a couple months, I didn't buy a back up bulb and i don't have any hydro stores anywhere near... I bought a plantmax 600w hps has anyone tried these before?
