yes this is true, but bubbles does not mean DO.

that why u find alot of people find better succes using a pump in dwc over a bubbler

and other people having a straight waterfall system and no bubbler with better results

it just takes the place of an air pump and stone. i dont think i have ever seen a pump used in dwc and you cant do waterfall in dwc.

i said dwc, not rdwc. and my understanding is that most use airstones with rdwc. in dwc do is a must, and i thought it was cool. very little electric use and lots of bubbles.

in dwc water doesnt move. plant and water are in same unit. it uses airstones to keep water good or else after 2-3 days the plant would start to drown and rot. without do the water goes stagnant. imagine a swamp.

What link? You gave one to a product and one to a build/grow thread...Neither of those explain how dissolved oxygen molecules are better than other oxygen molecules.

How do bubbles cause bacteria to grow? Aerobic bacteria are the good kind, and anaerobic bacteria are the bad, so wouldnt more air be better better for good bacteria and worse for bad bacteria?

yes mike your right more air = good.

fluming is the best way to get dissolved oxygen into your water look it up guys

i find it to be hilarious that all i got was options that dont even apply to a basic dwc setup and no real thoughts on the actual product, that for $12-15 is something worth trying.

ok then bud let me put it like this. do you really want something that in effect is a high speed propeller spinning in your root zone? common sense

ok, then bud, common sense. have you ever grown a 5gal dwc with an airstone? then you notice the roots balloon out and never cover it. same here. i thought about the roots and it does say it has a root guard of sorts. but think about all the high priced shit for gowing they sell, and its still less than an airpump and stone.

Actually I think I was a little hasty and probably owe you an apology. After taking a second look it looks fine. And yes I Have grown dwc. I only had a quick look at the pic and tbought it was like a prop spinning and chopping bubbles into the water. After a second look I was wrong

Am i the only one looking at this thing and seeing that it does not add any oxygen? From what i can see it looks like it creates bubbles from the DO already in the water or soemthing? Srely you want to be adding oxygen to the water as opposed to simply changing the form of the oxygen already present.

I dunno.

Oh, and i will frequently find my airstones completely overgrown with roots, so i wouldn't myself be putting some kind of propeller in my res.
