I'm going have to stick to led it's in my room and it gets hot with just those lights I have now
Keep in mind, 315W of heat is 315W of heat regardless of the source.

That depends on what your going to suggest the most I can really spend now is 140 maybe 200 and that's pushing it right now. but in 2 weeks I will have enough so I dont want to get something here next week when I can afford to get a better one and have it in 3 weeks if you know what I mean?
This...

has a separate ballast so it can be located outside your tent to keep things cool. It comes with the 3100K Phillips bulb, and (best part) it's within your budget to get NOW. If you wait 2 weeks, that's 2 weeks lost growth.

You'll have to spend twice that to get a good quality LED that will produce as much as that light.

Edit...and if you don't care about the Phillips bulb, Amazon has vivosun brands for $160...

You have a couple options.

HLG 300 Quantum Board (270w) - $450

Timber 3VL COB (320w) - $420

Kingbrite Quantum Board (320w) - $230

Yeah I thought that led were supposed to be so much cooler in tent though. Is that all a lie? Also are these lights that I can use fo the entire grow? Do those even exist? I would much rather spend 160 for something now and get something better in a couple weeks when it wont kill me

Ok so I'll wait a couple weeks for the best lights but for now what should I go for I'm going to check out the cheaper version so I'm not killing myself

Since you only have 5' of available height I don't think COB LED's are all that necessary, you would probably be better off with a Quantum board. I just got two of the Kingbrite 240w LM301H's myself but haven't used them yet. I will say they are damn bright next to my 600w HPS. Some people hate on the Kingbrite & Meijiu LED's from Alibaba but they come with Samsung diodes and Meanwell drivers. Considering I got 2 240w's for $320 shipped and the HLG 300 (270w actual) is $450 before tax so I figured it was worth a try.

A 315w CMH w/Phillips bulb is another great option.

Buy the Spider Farmer SF-2000 on Amazon for $299, you can veg and flower with it, I have one and it grows gorgeous plants. Personally, I would not buy anything other than a quantum board, definitely the future of led lights it seems to me.

I also have the HLG-550 for flowering, but the picture you see above was entirely the result of my SF-2000 after flowering for about 10 days. I had to save up for the 550 and just kept using the SF-2000 for flowering until I could afford it (I had to flip them or they would outgrow the height of the tent). See below for 3+ weeks into flower under the HLG-550 R-Spec:

Good luck and have fun!

The Spider Farmer is essentially the same thing as a Kingbrite or Meijiu. Just a rebranded light with a huge markup. You could get 2 240w from Alibaba for the same price.

Hey I'm totally new to this forum thing but I think I'm doing this correctly. Just looking for tips or advice based on how my plants look now.....
I started from bagseed on may 10th and switched lighting schedule to 12 and 12 on july 15th.This was pictures from August 1st. Today they have way more pistils and are beginning to show trichromes. I'll post more pics when they are awake
Lighting will change those plants lives drastically. I'm still on my first grow. But I bought a couple LED's and she loved it. Check out one of the buds and again.. it's only week 3 of flower.. Don't give up. Invest. They will pay you back

Thanks man I appreciate that. I'll be grabbing a better light soon. Plants look beautiful btw. Thanks for sharing

Ok here are updated pics since I've added the other light. I obviously have cfl and led mixed which I've read bad and good. I'm sure I'm going it wrong but they look happy

How close do you have the LED? Might want to raise it a bit and see if that helps.
It's about 4 inches away from the top coals but I cant raise it much further maybe 2 -3 inches tops but the fans will be almost right against the top of the tent on the led. Also the temp is 88 and that's with the door partially open but I dont want to turn any lights off obviously. So what is the best cheap cooling system I can get for the tent?

It is most likely a combination of the light being too close and the temps slightly too high. If you are able to dimm the LED I would do that if you are not able to raise the light higher.

What is the temp of the room the tent is in?

Do you have inline fans intaking and exhausting air? Or just circulation fans inside the tent?

The room the tent is in is 73. I have 1 11 inch fan inside circulating the fan and 1 fan exhausting air. The temps are jumping between 82 and 84 this morning
