FDM - ESB f3 / Bubblegum BX3

Hey all, this is my first attempt at a journal so please go easy on me.
After popping 18 ESB and 10 Bubblegum I had good gem rates with eazy cubes, pre-soaked for 24hrs in tepid tap water. Cubes were soaked in azoz for 24hrs prior to seeding.
4 ESB didn't crack and 4 Bubblegum also, I put this down to my impatience and errors.

After some issues with PH pen I've got them looking as healthy as they have been. Had a cheap an nasty ph pen off amazon, just shit.

They have all shown sex now and it seems I have 6 Bubblegum female, 3 male and 12 female ESB and 2 male.

Here they currently are on about 8 weeks from seed. No topping just plucking top 2 fan leaves to put the hormones into the lowers, nothing drastic.

6 Bubblegum in the centre, ESB round the sides. 20240509_100313.jpg

Its a nice one is esb im sure you will like it
Thanks for turning me on to FDM dude, I've just got to stop myself from buying more beans.
The Generals Daughter is calling me! I've been looking at AirbourneG13 cut via Duke Diamond for yrs but as they were only avaliable from American banks, I never committed. FDM is an eye opener for me, hoping to get a high like I used too.

While I've got 10mins piece and quiet I thought I could give a little update...
Took everything out for a little clean up underneath and put everything back in different ways. Took a few more leafs off to try and even the growth.

I'm Running Veg+Bloom, Stax(Calmg) Hydrozyme and Byosis once a week. EC 1.2-1.4 PH 5.7-6.1.
I mix small batches every day, leaving 20ltrs stand for 24hrs before mixing nutes in. I find I have a 5.7 PH when first mixed then rises to 6.1 after 24hrs. I feed a little when lights on and again 6hrs before lights off. Hand fed with run off bothe times, only a little.

Temps are roughly 21°c max lights off Humidity 70% (warm here at the moment) 31°c max lights on Humidity 55%. i leave the run off in the trays when its hot, it evaporates rising the Humidity. Im happy to do this as im running salts it doesn't evaporate only the water. (had to put the fan on setting 2)
They seem to thrive better with the higher temps, especially the ESB :D

1 Bubblegum looks super OG, 4 main tops, lots of side growth off main branches, spindly lowers and a Sweaty sock/Burnt rubber stem rub. The Sock smell in most prominent. Nothing sweet at all ...all good things by the way!
Another Bubblegum has the opposite, super sweet stem rub, reminiscent of a Pick'n'mix for the newsagents in a paperbag from the 90's.
ESB, I should mention I've got 2 males which have very similar structure, perfect Xmas tree, lower branching is superb. Stem rub completely different, 1 is offensive, like the old cheese backend. Nothing like cheese but that faust you get from cheese, that's there. I don't want to say Skunk cause I wouldn't know, that's the closest I could describe it as. Its in 2 females too, very appealing, excited. Beautiful structure on all ESB, 1 has serious varigation and does smell fruity, I can't say blueberry yet though... fingers crossed.

Hey dude, it's grams with powder nutes. I'm giving a cap full of hydrozyme, 4g of Stax and 16g of veg+bloom per 18ltrs/4Gal US.
My water source is very soft and comes out the tap at 0.2ec (bluelab) water is stood for 24hrs prior to mixing and comes out between 5.7-6.1 ph and 1.4ec. I'm pushing them a bit hard tbh. I wouldn't go past 1.8 come peak flower.

peace

Question to anyone reading... I'm running 2 315 HDE-E double ended and 1 Sanlight S4W (not switched on yet) in the tent with ESB. I'm aware that this spectrum would be best suited to encourage more psychoactive cannabonoids(apologies for spelling) thus why I'm keeping the ESB here and BG's under the Aray.
My question is, would there be a particular week to switch the Sanlight on? it produces a varied spectrum compared to the HDE-E s, ie alot more red. I'm no expert in spectrums and what impacts what, but I do know that I'm trying to mimick the sun and seasons Indoors as best as I can. I also have 2 Solar cure UVB to add in, this is another dilemma as to how often they should be on and if I should even add them in?

Any advice wpuld be most welcome, Cheers Dudes

if you already have 630w running in there that's really quite a lot in a small tent, i suspect you would veg just fine with just one of your cmh lights, plus 31C at peak is really hot, you want to be in the 21 - 26 range ideally.

Perhaps you could try one chm with the led and see how they look, you can tell a lot by how the leafs taco up when its too hot, or they often slow and become discoloured with light stress, quite common symptoms with powerful modern leds.

As for the uvb, be careful with those, they can mess your eyes up bad, i think they're probably better left to later in flower and in short bursts (15mins up to a few hours), i think many are still experimenting with them.

Thanks for your feedback dude. Ye I kind of go OTT on lights, they are 8yrs old now, lamps have had 2 runs out of them so I figured they had deteriorated alot. I wanted to see how the ESB do under them before hooking up another Array.
At peak 16-18hr midday sun they get to 31 when it's 22-24°c outside. As a contrast the Array is at 24°c with the outside temps at 22°c! mind boggling. a good 8-10 °c difference.

I've noticed the stretch alot over the last week due to the heat but thankfully nothing else, just yet.
As I've only just put the BG's under the Array I've put it at 60% just for them to adapt. Definitely very powerful, impressed so far, very good build quality.

Ye man, very weary of running them, put them on when they first came out few yes back, every 15mins for total of 4-6hrs, mid 12/12 cycle. I never went in there if they were on.
I have them sitting there gathering dust so figured if ever was a time and a plant to do it with it would be now with the ESB.

thanks again dude

Yes, that's something that i experienced over the years and developed a pattern of using mostly hps and cmh with a few leds over the winter, and decided it worked much better than leds with heaters on. Then in the summer using mostly led as it gets hotter outside, as they just run so cool.
In fact i found cmh quite a bit cooler than hps too, I feel like my 400w hps puts out more heat than my 600w oil rad..

totally agree with you. As lecy is getting costly though I feel I'm going to bite the bullet and just run the leds, i know im going to be battlling the cold in the nights and winter, the fact i can run in summer is a major factor. The even spread is such a godsend too.
I will keep them around though, there's enough room to hang a 315 in the centre or the Array bar, so as you say, I'd rather replace the oil rad with a 315 for heat, definitely generate more.
