exhaust system

hey ya'll. been offline for awhile cause my computer took a shit from a power surge. back up now. anyways....

I was wondering what i should do for an exhaust system. I'm trying to control odor so I've sealed the box up pretty tight. It's pretty fuckin massive LOL. 4'x4'x6'. I checked into inline fans, they're way overpriced, it's pretty much just fucking ridiculous. could i just use some PC fans or something to push some air from one side out the other?

I just need enough airflow to give the carbon filter on the end some action. hopin some of you way more experienced growers could help me out

Ozone generator or ona liquid mixed in soil moist if your main worry is just odor. I seen a ozone generator at discount hydro for about $75 bucks. What I learned in growing is when you skimp on certain stuff it can kill harvest a bit.

that ona liquid alone will do the trick? i don't think i wanna mess with Ozone generators, with my luck i would probably end up killing everyone in my house.

I don't doubt it but the cheapest one i could find was like $60 and it's loud as shit and puts out a poop amount of CFMs. No way it costs somebody more than $10 to make such a POS.

looking for something that is quite and puts out just enough air to take some in and blow it out the other side.

in theory, couldn't I just make only 1 hole and attach the carbon filter to it with a computer fan behind it for extra push. air would have no other choice than to flow out through it, right?

You haven't mentioned your lighting choice yet?

This will greatly alter what fans will work for you.

carbon filter= balloon you= inline fan 1yr old baby = computer fan. hope that answers your question.

just CFLs so heat won't be an issue. just need something to get air goin through the filter because I'm concerned about odor.

that made no sense to me what so ever

If you plan on using enough cfls to light your 4x4x6 box then you ARE going to need fan power still.


People seem to think that cfls run as cool as a refrigerator.


It is possible to keep a 200-300w large cfl cool with an 85CFM AKASA PC fan as I've done it in a mother box I used to run a few years back.

But to grow in a 4x4x6 area IMO with cfls to fill it would require some decent fan power.
