DNA R.K.S. Question.

Ok so I just got to try my RKS that I got from Attitude. It in no way smells like skunk... but it does stink all to hell. But it smells like Booberry Cereal. Almost like Blue Cheese.

Has anyone here had any experience with the R.K.S.? I was just wondering if I got a crazy pheno or if it sounds nothing at all like R.K.S. I topped her three or four times and she ended up with lots of medium sized buds. The stems were almost like rubber lol. You honestly could almost tie a wet branch in a knot.

I'm not at all disappointed with it. It's very tasty. Just nothing at all like what I was hoping for. I of course was looking for a real skunk. The Buzz is very calming. I'm stoned not high.

finished up a grow of rks about a year ago, i found it was leaning more towards the afghani end of its genetics. i have 1 seed left, but out of the 5 there was a few phenos, i had one that smelled very similar to exodus cheese, which i didnt clone (lesson learnt). overall very happy, but as mentioned above not quite rks

I grew two, and both had the same sweet pungent smell. Now i'm told it smells nothing like skunk which i've not had, and the high is more relaxing and less fun than I like, but its in no way a bad plant by any means.

Dam, I was hopin RKS smelled like skunk from the old days.
Im looking for a skunk that smells like a skunk dead in the road.
Now days its all fruitys skunks.

yeah this is waay more sweet smelling than it is skunky. its candy sweet smelling (not quite tga subcool level candy but sweet none the less)

Thanks guys. I'm sorta happy that ya'll had the sweet candy smell also. I know we probably all were looking for a strong skunk. But like was said. It's not at all a bad plant. Actually i'm really liking the taste.But it in no way compares to the buzz of my Vortex or 3D. But i'm keepin it around for a min.

I'm convinced that the skunk of my youth is gone. And that's a damn shame.

Awww, You got a 3D and the high is great??? I love the vortex high, so im' stoked. My last 3d I grew turned male. i got another seed in germ, got fingers crossed for a female.

I have a pack but haven't popped em. I've heard from a lot of people that have grown it that it doesn't really have that heavy skunk smell. From what i been hearing your best bet for getting good skunky shit is sensi skunk #1 or sensi super skunk. I just ordered a pack of the super skunk to give a try.

The 3D isn't as strong as the Vortex but it's not far off. It has a good taste.. but that's to be expected from Subcool. Not the yielder that say Jillybean is but it's damn good smoke. you wont be disappointed.

And Banditt thanks for the heads up. I was thinking about running some of the Super Skunk. I had Ceres seeds Skunk Haze and it had a "whiff" of skunk to it. But not really a strong skunk smell. Tasted like really good commercial but not good enuff to keep.

I guess it comes down to how you think skunk smells...

That brings to mind a question for everyone, how do YOU explain what the smell of skunk is to weed.

I personally have to go on previous weed called skunk experience as i've never actually smelled an actual skunks spray.

well here in my state when ridein down the highway,and u pass by a dead skunk on the side of the road,and the whole car starts to smell like a real sharp sour stintch,thats R.K.S

But both of my RKS smell very sweet and sugary, and friends who have smelled it say it doesn't smell like a skunk. both phenos are a little different but both have the same sweet smell.

thats crazy......were they in breeder packs?,cause the whole pack i got,the 4 seeds i did were all the same,smell,growth,flowering,taste and all.

haha same here in my state. You smell em outside all the time by my house as I am in an area with a lot of habitat/wildlife surrounding my house. When they spray you can smell it from a pretty far distance and the smell is pretty unmistakeable. I'm not sure how I would explain it though as it is unlike anything. You just have to know the smell.

Yeah Reserva Privada the red pack with the little vial of RKS seeds.

Back in the 90's I used to get two different types of skunk. One was the kind of skunk that I don't care if you had it triple bagged it would still just reak of skunk.. Kinda of Sweet but still dead skunk, .. that whiff you get drivin down the road and wish your stash smelled the same. Smoke one joint and your car would just be ruined for at least a day. So many times me and my friend got busted by his dad when we couldn't get the smell out. Stinky Stinky Stinky.

The other type of skunk was local Michigan Skunk. And it didn't have anything sweet about it. It's skunk smell was so strong and harsh that it almost burned you nostrils just like walking right up on a live skunk and having it spray you in the face. But man talk about a buzz some of the best shit ever. To me this is R.K.S. as in Road Kill Skunk. It seems to me that DNA's "Really Killer Skunk" Is just another Sam the Skunkman's Skunkless Skunk ruining my chances of having real skunk again.

Like I said. I still like it. It contends with Blue Cheese and BB Cheese. At least the seed I got did.

But out of the last year so far my favorites have to be Vortex, One Pheno of Jillybean. 3D, and Dinafem's Critical Jack. I cannot say enuff about the Critical Jack. Crazy powerful taste and one of the most potent strains i've ever had. Easy as hell to grow and yields it's ass off. It just takes 60 days. But well worth it.
