Hello! As the title says, My large plant, Purple Queen, is wilting and looks likes its dying. My other plant is doing just fine.
The stems are flopping over and bending and it looks like its bad damage
  • Im using DWC, LED 1200w (600w hps equivocal) light about 15 inches away from the plant
  • PH is being balanced properly I think. Maybe a day or so it might go over 6
  • Windburn is possiblity but this looks a lot more serious than my tiny fan causing all this. I have since turned it off
  • Humidity is at about %50 right now
  • There is a very strong odor and it smells bad. Cant describe it well. Almost smells like fish or something
  • I see no mold or growth on the plant itself or on the roots
I came home to see the window unit exhaust had fallen out and the room was at 85F. It looked sad, with the leaves shrunken up and curling in different ways.
It was nute day so I had to change the nutrients out i gave it my normal amount.

I'm assuming its heat stress because it has had 0 signs of problems until it reached that temperature. It just happen to be the first hot day after a cold week and the exhaust duct fell inside.

Any solutions to the stems falling over and hurting them selves? what could be causing all of this and will she recover?

Its such a big plant I really dont want to lose it!

Here are some pics from yesterday:

Not exactly sure what you’ve done with your plant nutrient wise or what medium ya use but looks like u got something going on with ur roots it ain’t heat stress, actually I second that rn I see some leafs rolled up, shit I donno

I fed them yesterday. Once a week. In the OP, I put DWC, i should clarify better next time. im going to flush out those nutes tonight and put quarter strength. Water is RO water. Humidity is interesting Ill give that a look in a minute

I use Advance Nutrients, and pebble medium for Deep water culture or bubbleponics. Im struggling to find what could be the issue as the other plant in my tent is doing just fine.

I'm starting to think its:
  • Light stress
  • Heat & Humidity stress
  • Nutrient issues

What’s ur temp n RH run at daily keep it above 62 if u can, and over 80-82 ur slowing growth, humidity is nice 60% in veg 45-50 in flower gradually getting to 45 if u do go low like that

Root rot smells kinda like a dirty fish tank.
Sounds like the temp spike in the room heated up your water too high. Had the same thing happen recently because I forgot to turn te exhaust fan on and my wife zipped up the tent.

Pretty easy to find out if it’s heat stress though raise ur light ur plant is big enough it won’t hurt it if u raise it a bit to c how she reacts

The roots are pearly white. Granted it is a giant ball of roots so i cant see all the way inside but its pretty clean. Also the smell is definitely coming from the plant it self
I use hydrogen peroxide almost every day just in case because I had a root rot right before flowering and I didn't want to risk it.
I haven't done this since veg state but I also use a water pick to wash the grime off roots when I did have them.

Plant never recovered. For a day it looked better but it ended up just dying. Very sad.
Luckily the plant next to her survived and the harvest was decent.
Late follow up
