@Airwalker16 its says on the site they use cree 3590 in the bigger fixtures.ever think they might get the cobs cheaper than the 50 they have them listed for ? lol like maybe they get cobs for 35.00 each when they buy 1000,and those 55.00 meanwells i know can be had for around 40.00 in bulk.their markup aint real high on those fixtures but they are def making money.

Looking at their site the prices for fixtures are less than what you can buy components and DIY. If they're legit I'd look at them before importing them from a US supplier or bothering with DIY, around $2/watt for the most part assembled and ready to go is not a bad price. Haven't seen any of these fixtures on RIU though, not even a mention of them other than this thread.

Guys Im pretty sure they are bulk ordered and built from shenzhen. Hes not buying CD bin for $50. They are hooking him up because they can pull strings to make orders profitable. Look up the actual bulk order adds and read their full descriptions.

I (may soon) put my money on these being legit. Im still waiting to hear from this guy. I dont trust his warranty at all or anything at this point its a buy at own risk. I definitely feel like once I have one of these, I wont have any support or anything after (I could be wrong here), but I do feel like these are probably legit components. Cree and Meanwell are all made in China anyhow, in my head there is a system of networking that allow China to copy/replicate anything on the market for cheaper. Thats what they do. You can't fight China @ the consumer level when all our companies have everything mass produced over there.

Im not buying a light system from the states @ overinflated prices with their overinflated dollar either @GroErr

May decide to DIY from cutter but this looks like win to me.

If you're in maple land I'd jump on it. Just understand you'll need to run it similar to a 1kw hid light. As in needing distance and hot center. But even if it's not top bin you're still getting AT LEAST 1 gram per watt if you're fuckerd up.

I wouldnt get anything other than the 900w tho..... The rest are not a good deal.

Yeah if these guys are legit I'd give them a go next time I'm in the market. I got some 3070's through Digi a couple of years back but just checked their pricing on 3590's and you' couldn't build a light cheaper.

http://www.digikey.ca/product-search/en/optoelectronics/led-lighting-cobs-engines-modules/525140?k=3590&k=&pkeyword=3590&pv543=134&FV=ffecb6c4,fffc005a,9403c3,2dc1dab,19380159,fff40008,fff80354,1c98004f&mnonly=0&newproducts=0&ColumnSort=0&page=1&quantity=0&ptm=0&fid=0&pageSize=25
Digi key is such a fuckin rip off

Here's the response via email:

Q:
Looking for more info on your panels.

- What are the individual COBs being driven at?
- How many per unit and what specific driver are you running in your 620 & 900 models?
- Are these passive or actively cooled? and how so if active?
- What are the details of your warranty?
- Can these models be fitted with different COB chips and/or drivers as the technology advances?
- Do you have any documentation authenticating the Cree and Meanwell parts used?

A:
The 620 and 900 models are running 4 hlg 185h c1400A model drivers (you can adjust them on the inside)

They are actively cooled with 8 large fans, its no issue.
3 year warranty, send me a video of the broken unit and ill send you the parts to fix it, the panels are too expensive to ship back and forth so that's why we do it like this. they are easy to fix.

Yes you could easily upgrade them in the future

They are absolutely meanwell and cree parts. Our par numbers are insane but more importantly we are seeing well over 2 #'s per light with our 620's and more with the 900's. Its ridiculous, ive used hps for 13 years, and ive never seen anything like this.

If you get one of these lights I urge you to stay in touch with me, id love to hear about your progress, we have not had a unsatisfied customer yet.

I have not educated myself on the lingo and terms DIY led users use. I dont understand all the pfd, ppfd, par watts and other measurements, understanding drivers and efficiencies and what not at all. I just have not had the time to spend on the subject of led's and lighting in general other than spectrum and what I needed to know to get by. I really really like the idea of led, and i really want to make a move on them. Not sure if my questions where good ones to ask or not.

Is there a thread in this section that really clearly sums up everything to do with led's? All the terms and calculations? I havnt seen one. If there is someone let me know! Thanks guys.

I want to ditch hps in a bad way. All the fans, all the ducting, the energy consumption... Love to be able to run sealed rooms and start using c02.

personally I don't think (re-branded) bc blondes thermal management is up to snuff IMO with high ambient temps............. especially on their higher wattage "stuffed to the gills" fixture(s).

you should ask them for some thermal readings/measurements in a 85F room , if you wanna run a sealed grow with co2 sup

good luck

Not really any one thread that has everything but there are a bunch of good threads on specific subjects including these DIY kits. The beauty of the kits is reduced complexity of the build and component selection, the builds can be simple or really elaborate. There's a good thread for ideas where a lot of members post their builds.
