Just curious on what bare essentials I need for my first room grow. I am planning on doing 4 1000w lights with 25 Kish (Shiskaberry) plants underneath each 1000w. I have all the ballasts, bulbs, soil, nuts, planters, ph testers. The only thing I don't know which way to go is the ventilation/odor control??? I am renting and it's a two bedroom new appartment, so I do not want to cut holes in the walls ect. Is there a way I can control odor and have ventilation in a closed room???? Any suggestions would be awesome. Cheers.

You can simply recirculate the air through any type of odor control stuff you want like a carbon filter or whatever. Get some co2 and a dehumidifier and you should be able to run the system pretty much fully enclosed. Temps could be an issue but you should have ac and heat to sort that out.

Unless your grow is sealed and CO2 enriched, you don't want to recirculate all that air. You're going to need to move it out of your room. Running 4000W is going to get hot in there, so unless you have an air conditioner big enough to handle the heat, your best bet is to either not run so many lights or you'll probably end up having to cut holes.

Can I seal the room with black and white roll or does it have to be sealed sealed??? I might run a small co2 unit as well?

Utility company will notice 4000w on the bill thats for sure. be careful

My shitty baseboard heaters are 1500w each and they can, in theory, run all day at max power and not heat my house too hot, assuming it's winter. So it's possible they would notice and not do anything about it if you paid your bill...

As long as you pay your bills, and you are able to keep the odor under control, you should be fine. If i were you though, i wouldn't use such a large scale operation, try growing ten plants at first, and see where that takes you. Make sure that the room you are in has a window, i would attach a fan to that window blowing air out of that room. keep the temperature well controlled [between 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit]. If odor is escaping from the room make sure you get your plants out of their and control the odor ASAP! Good luck, -Ku5626
