Getting ready to purchase parts from autopot USA
In the aqua valve page there is something called
Aqua valve silicones
Any idea what they are for and do I need them with a aqua pot valve??

Any reason you’re buying parts vs the kits? At .50 a piece I’d get it. I’m not home now but I believe it’s a rubber stopper that turns the valve on when water level gets that low. Without it I’d imagine the water lever would just have to be slightly lower before the valves kick on, if not dry

@Mikenike
I have a small grow area
The 2.2 gallon twin pod will not fit in my area for its 23.5 inches long
My cab is 20 inches long with 24 inches of headspace.
So
I am putting together a custom diy using xl kitty litter tray, aqua valve, 6x6 nursery squares (4), and a lid.
I’ll put a couple bricks in there for water displacement to help to cycle a little faster.
I have a qb288 (3000k) with slate running @120 watts / 48 watts s.f.
I have another qb288 so can boost wattage to 250 if needed.
And will be useing megacrop only for now.
Will run mega crop @ 550ppm useing 50/50 r/o and tap.
My tap is 300ppm so I’ll be starting with 150 ppm with the mix.
Approx 700ppm total from start to finish.
With 4 plants...
So I’m buying parts that I may need like aqua valve and root socks and stuff.

It’s early in your grow but I’m looking forward to thoughts on the air dome in the 3.9 and if the value is really there .

I’m still in the research and purchase phase.
However
Dureing my reaserch
I’ve read some posts on other forums about useing the air dome, and they have done a side by side runs with/ without and they found no difference.
Their general consensus was it’s a not needed add on.
Personally, if I was adding air,
I’d use a small aquarium air pump to add o2 to my nutrient tank before I’d do the air domes but.....
I won’t be injecting air.
the air dome is a relatively inexpensive add on and you may get a different result.

I have one plant without an air dome and so far I don’t notice any difference between them at all. I won’t be using them next grow, just more wires/lines to deal with. Sucks because I bought 6 of em lol oh well. Some people claim they notice a difference the next day and some claim they don’t do anything. Since I’m in coco/perlite mix I don’t think air should be an issue.

As for aerating your Rez, that tends to change the PH of things, some more than others but it works without as well so I’ll be trying to keep things simple

@Mikenike

I’m flowing in the same stream as you
Less is more
I won’t be bubbling my Rez
Heck I don’t even know what size. It’s gonna be yet!!!!
But I have dropped the 6 inch nursery squares and bought some 1 gallon radicle bags.
Ordering autopot parts tonight.
And yer right
Those silicones are the stoppers for air/water flow
As far as the airdromes I guess I’m in the camp that if it gives 30% more , why not just include it as part of the airpot? It’s just a money grab in my eye.
Looking forward to getting this system going.

Day 22 did some light LST on all of them. Might have damaged the roots a little, they seemed stunted for about a day or two. When I bent them all over they were slightly lifted out the coco since I didn’t tie it down the opposite direction that I bent them over.

Top pic middle plant should be interesting. The top of it was naturally offset exposing the bottom nodes. Also the third node is a natural double top. Too plant that got hit with some wind burn I think seems to be doing the worst but still not far behind the rest

Bottom pic, bottom plant has slight N tox. GSC bottom pic, top plant is doing very well without the airdome.

Dude you good ? You haven’t checked in a while . How is your world ? I’m pulling for on point !
Hey! I’m away for a family emergency and doesn’t look like I’ll be back for a couple weeks. I left with 12 gallons in the res and everything else in check so I’m hoping things are straight when I get back. Fingers crossed

Well I’m devastated

My rez was dry but I’m thankful my house didn’t burn down. One set of lights went out and something shorted and burned at my main Wago connector. The other plus side is I get to try Mephistos cosmic queen and some photos that are waiting at the post office. Also came back from my trip with 8 bags of tupur mix coco ($16) since it’s nearly $40 a bag where I’m at due to shipping. I’m really disappointed but the main thing I’m thankful for is my house not burning down. Better luck next time. Also got some new lights as well.

All the plants were in flower and I was considering trying to save the few hopeful ones until I saw this. So makes me a feel a little better having to throw them away now. Next round will be 6 meohisto beans and 6 heisenbeans photos in a 8-16 mainline style.

Glad your house didn’t get subcooled also that would of been tragic. Had to think that with that much time away 12 gallons wasn’t gonna hold down the fort down .WB ,reload that grow room w/ fresh stock (back to work) ;)

And the journey continues. 6 cosmic queens and 6 wedding cake crosses. I will now be using the 2.2g pots for autos and the 4g for photos. I really don’t think the air domes make much of a difference so I will only use them in the 2.2g pots to give the smaller pots whatever edge they can get.

I made the switch to mega crop , smart pots & royal gold tupur for all the same reasons its almost foolproof & has given me great results I've been doing this indoors for about 9 years simple is better I'm now gonna try royal gold basement mix for my next grow
Me too!!!

I put a large air stone in the bottom of the res and my plants took off!!! Megacrop and autopots and Royal Tupur...15650459459446000530928631486139.jpg

Tupur's better???
Having used both I feel tupur to be better but wontnhave a final verdict until this grow is complete then we will have 2 identical grows complete , same light , strain & tent done in each medium tupur -vs- basement mix , so far I'm leaning towards the tupur & have been from the start
