Ok cheers mate, i will try and source some tri kelp i've only fed the seedlings plain water so far. Managed to find a 30l bag of Searles 5 in 1 today as well as some good organic soil with no added nutes like the Osmocote. Stoked about that.
You'll be fine, mate. It's a journey that needs to be taken over several seasons/grows/years.

Be prepared to fuck stuff up & learn how/where it happened. Make notes for yourself & learn from it each time & move on to the next one without beating yourself-up.

I'm a homebrewer with several decades of experience & have made a lot of award-winning beers, but I still make some absolute crap.

It's the same with growing weed........... Don't beat yourself up. Just learn.......

BTW, I've only been growing weed for the past 4-ish years, but the sentiment is the same....

Case in point - yesterday, I managed to dump ~ 300L of water through my TNR plant. She looks wonderful today, but the others now need watering......

Thanks mate, yes this is definitely a massive learning experience. I've just been trying to read and absorb as much as i can, and the more i learn the more im aware of how much i dont know. But finding this site and especially the Aus growers thread has been like finding gold, there's so much good info you guys have shared. I even had someone here reach out to me and help me big time.

Trying my hardest not to stuff up, even though i expect some failures. The wife and i have some health issues, i've messed up 4 discs in my back and theres been a lot of sleepless nights in pain, taking shit meds which arent real effective so fingers crossed this grow brings some relief.

I popped a few more beans then needed to allow for some casualties, but so far so good. Yes im taking lots of notes and pictures to learn from, and whenever i do anything like re-pot in to a different medium, use new nutes, topping or lst i will just do it to a few plants then monitor for a few days. This way i wont wipe the lot out doing anything stupid.

Got 4 potted up today, really happy with the progress of all plants so far.

Gee that sucks about the TNR, is it starting to flower? Hope she stays healthy, i bet you wont do that again.

Got my new toy today smd it only cost me
$150 and 4 weeks of fucking around. 464425C7-EE43-40F1-91E8-6F9BB5727BB2.jpeg

bought a second hand one off a bloke. Unfortunately something was wrong because when I went to calibrate the ph it just wouldn’t and was reading the wrong ph while in ph 7&4. Thought it was a dodgy new probe I’d bought (and found out from messaging bluelab was over a year old) so returned That and got fucked around for a week by the seller until I got another for it the do the same thing.

Messaged bluelab again and within 7 days this brand new one is sitting on my doorstep. 10/10 would rate their customer service.

Look into making caps for the pain relief.

| got some BB x Kandy seeds from a mate.
He tells me that the BB is for Big Bud, but I can't find a record anywhere (even using the Great Brain of Google).
Was thinking Blueberry x . What say you, Aussie growers?
Suppose I just need to make space, and slap a few in the growspace.

I've got a pack of BB (big bud) X (ww X BL)
Asked my mate that's growing it.
Big bud X (White widow X blueberry )
He said you'll like that and it'll be a big yielder. Haven't popped them but they came from out and about

@LowRange this is good advice if pain relief is what you're seeking from your growing. Edibles come-on slowly & have a sustained effect as opposed to the immediate & short-lived effect from smoking or vaping.

I produce caps for my sister & a couple of other people that are totally jack of prescription medication (my sister carries two shopping-bags full of pills wherever she goes!!!!).

They've told me that, whilst they miss the "head" effect (I make low-dose caps for them), the pain relief is definitely appreciated & they feel pleasantly sleepy & most often report geting a good night's sleep as well.

The beauty of making caps is that you can make concentrated extracts & then dilute/cut them back by degrees to find something that works for you on a regular basis & regulate your own dose. I've given my sister full/half/quarter-strength caps (full-strength being 100g of buds in 900g of Coles extra-virgin coconut oil) & she's currently happy with the 1/4-strength ones. I've encouraged her to try the stronger ones if she wants to have a bit of fun....;)

Good luck with your journey of exploration, mate.

Last 2 years I was praying for rain, this season is ridiculously wet. Unfortunately it looks like my Skywalker OG has started to develop bud rot,a problem I've not encountered before. Having a good look at it this arvo but it could be a write off. Mother nature can suck.

I can relate to this, in our location in NE NSW, I've tipped out around 400mm from the rain gauge in a dozen days. Humidity constantly 70-90% by day. On Tuesday I noticed a mouldy bud on a lower branch, it was the filamentous type of mould. I nipped the bud off and binned it. Touch wood, I haven't found any more since and the weather forecast is for a generally drying trend. I reckon we still got 2-3 weeks to go too as the trichs look mostly clear and still multiplying.

Went to Bunnings the other day to grab some bags of coco to find they didn’t have any on the shelf or it listed on their website (rip pinegrow bagged coco, you will be missed). I’m a cheap bastard and didn’t want to go back to hydro shop bags at $40-50 a pop so started down the old google wormhole.

after a few days of reading and searching I settled on these besgrow precision coir blocks.

They’re nursery/greenhouse grade, claim low ec and decent ph numbers on their and tropicoir’s website (their Sri Lankan partner). Ended up finding 4x 4.5kg bales and 100l of perlite delivered for $120. Each 4.5kg bale makes 60-70l of expanded coir, so 240-280L of coir total and 380l of medium total for $120 delivered. Freaking bargain.

Now to test out the ec and ph. Started by expanding out one of the blocks with 25l of warm tap water in an 80l tub.015FFF0D-E58E-4352-AC70-F6278DD0AB84.jpeg
DCFD5335-8F0D-4608-AB42-CF401B5A554F.jpeg2A84C981-32E2-49E6-9D7E-920392FB3F6B.jpegOnce expanded it was sitting at about 0.5ec and 7.3-7.5 ph. Decided to give it a good rinse with tap water to bring the extra down. Got it to equal the tap water at 0.1ec so gave it a hot charge of ph’d trio cmb to flush any excess sodium and potassium out of the Cec sites and bring the ph down. I’ll let it sit tonight and give it another flush out in the morning with trio at 0.4 ec and ph 6 until runoff is the same as solution going in.

Thanks mate, i hadn't done much research in to ways to use the final product yet. Still getting a handle on PAR, FIM, SCROG, EC, PPM and all the other acronyms to maximize success with the grow. I just figured i would make some butter and do some baking, but looking in to the caps seems like a much better idea. Cheers.

Yes wow that's great to hear it's providing some relief for your sister, it's very encouraging for me to hear that. I know how she feels being jack of prescription medications. I'm trying not to get my hopes up and i know this grow isnt going to be a miracle cure, but i know it's going to help a lot more then probably anything else i've tried or been prescribed.

Besides, tending to these plants and seeing their progress every time i open the tent puts a huge smile on my face. It's such a rewarding hobby, it's making me happy before i even get to try the finished product. :) Thanks mate.
