So as some of you guys will know its my first grow and im growing quite a few plants, in which half are been used to experiment on, i have placed 2 plants in 1 pot twice. So far they seem to be growing nice there 19 days old at this point, what are the pros and cons guys and has any1 ever done this?

Pros.. None.. maybe save a buck on soil and another pot

Cons. Both plants fight for limited space and NPK. if something goes wrong you lose both plants..

its been done many times before, its never been a good idea.

Well i guesse we'll know for certain as i will keep u updated on this post, both are healthy but yes they r filling the pots fast, is there anyway to kill one without hurting the otherM

At and early stage, you can take them out of the pot and gently pull them apart, as they grow this will become harder to do without hurting the plants.. but can still be done.

the only thing that would worry me would be the fact that one would eventually strangulate the other, just a faster start from a better seed or something, bigger root system then the other in that time. then theres the food resources, one might burn up too much of something and not enough of the other and in turn jew the other plant. forgive me i am fairly medicated but theres my 2c

coming from a noobish grower

All input is welcome on this post wether it be from noobs like us or experienced growers, the only question i have is how to plants grow side by side outside and i read that plants will look after eachother and share the nutrients between eachother, i mean what if both do grow and produce, maybe they share the same size as one plant, theres alot of debate on this but ive mot come across any videos or any picture evidence

Plants will co-operate if they are parent/offspring. Otherwise they will fight for resources. They will probably grow, but most growers want to maximize their harvest and plants sharing a pot is not the way it's done.
I applaud your willingness to experiment, I never have the time or space.

so long as they are of similar size and health and you don't let them get too big it is ok, i regularly grow multiple plants in the same container, just on a bigger scale.

if you don't want to separate them now you are going to have to flower them very soon as one will likely out grow the other leaving it struggling to get light and water.

good growing

Hey ill take some pics in a minute, all thats happend is the plants have litrally grown in to eachother one plant is huge the other plant consists or 2 large top, it looks like just one big fuck off plant coming outside of the bigger plant, fair enough its not like having 2 plants but i was only gonna throw them. Ill send some pics

I did this my first grow, before I ever really researched and learned everything... It's all con. I made it to harvest, but they hermed, they were root bound, and they were ugly.

Yours may of done that but mine are doing good, and i have no doubt they'll continue to do good,, theres defo pro's to it cause i didnt have enough space for extra pots hence why i double potted them, the amnesua's are the 2 biggest plants out of all 15 and there in the same pot with an afghan kush, so you cant say there all cons because its not true, i could of doubled up all my plants and had more bud for doing so..

How far along are you? Wait til mid flower. You're definitely going to lose yield when you get to harvest, that is if you make it. How many gals are your containers? Think what you want, but there are no pros. Like you said, it's your first grow. But thanks for letting me know how great of an idea it is. If there were pros more people would do it. But the only people who do it are the ones who aren't smart enough to read before they pop their beans.

It might be my first grow but my plants look amazing even tho there only 3 weeks into flower, i had 2 spare afgan kush, rarther than waste them so i stuck them with w sativa, which are always gonna grow taller than a indica then i bent the main stalk outwards so they didnt collide, i have removable bottoms on my pots and i check my roots every week and there doing good, it doesnt matter what you did, if it works for me i dont see how the yield will be affected because the double plants are huge, i did this to see if it works, so far it has, deal with it, when it stops working then you can say i told you say, it might be my first grow but it doesnt mean i dont know what im doing
