what type and size bulb are you using? also what method of growing are you using?
Soil indoor, 1-250w.MH, + 2-40 watt compact flouresents, the spiral kind, Im getting a 150w high intensity compact flouresent to add to the mix! I read that the 150w high intensity flouresent was as bright as a 400 w hps, although salesman at the light source said that was bull and it was 150w. period. Anyone heard of this?

I have 8 of them, they're pretty bright, but nowhere near the brightness of an HPS bulb. But they do work great and they're cheap on the power bill.

yea i was having the same problems. i was using some floros. and after a month their not real big. so i just take those lame ass floros out of there and hooked up a 400 watt mh. hopefully now my bitches are happy.

florouscent lights are secondary. They work, but you need the big MH/HPS bulbs to get the serious growth/yields.

the 250w mh alone should be plenty for flowering, but i would definitely use fluoros to make up for the lack in red spectrum.
