Exausting outside of grow room

Ok so heres my plan drawn out. Ext cords to extend from wall to top of tent so I can just un plug and plug to generator. The 3x3, 2x2 will plug into ext cords to run to the 2.5x5 power strip which plugs into generator with a ext cord.

Lots of daisy chaining idk if its ok but everything would be under the rated watts especially the fridges being like 50w each two total. More worried about the mess of cords in my room to power the tents.

1385w max on each power strip but idk if working with 12-18ft effects the gauge I should use or etc. Otherwise this is what it would look like to make it work. Any advice let me know.

Growing is fun and all but wow do I feel stupid often trying figure this out lol. I have a huge “there I fixed it” style approach to things.

The 2x4 was overestimated by 400w the dehuey may only be 440w peak watts. Says its 370w which wow thought it was 500w. So that much less use on the power strips. I estimated 900 peak watts just to be sure at first.

Ive already known this and had to explain it myself. So I think Im good I just never done a project this big working with so many cords. I have people to this day thatll say dont but not really know why.

That cord is good for 7500 watts, and safely splits up the load with that t-blade adapter back into 4x 20 amp 120 outlets (with 2 circuits, but you wanna treat them more like 15 amps each). It also locks in so the plugs won't fall out of the generator as it vibrates around, or as easily if they get tripped over. The cord can lay in the yard right in the snow and ice and be ok in freezing conditions. Your Generator can continuously put out 7500 watts (matching the cord which was made just for the same size and output of generators), and even if you pulled more than half that through only one of the legs it will kick the breaker on the panel.

It will more than handle your whole grow. The only problem I forsee will be when your room mates or whoever see you have power for the plants, they will want to use it and plug in stuff too, lol.

I'm about to convert my older one to a duel fuel setup, (the new one already has it) so it runs off propane too. They sell the propane carb/regulator kits for pretty cheap now. Then you never have to worry about bad gas sitting around and clogging up the carb, and all the extra maintenance that goes with that part... Propane burns way cleaner and prolongs engine life as well. The oil will stay clean for longer periods of time. Also, you can hook it to a big 20 gallon+ propane tank, which will last for days without having to shut the gen off to add more gas.

Extension cords will usually have a rating in Amps and sometimes Watts (Watts = Amps x Volts), no matter what length they are (a longer cord with the same size wire will have a lower rating than a shorter one).

1385 Watts is equal to about 11.5 Amps at 120V. So 15-Amp cords should be sufficient, keeping in mind that when connecting devices that are on for several hours straight (lights, fans, etc), you really want to keep the draw below 80% of what the cord/power strip is rated for. And if you have to split it, like to multiple power strips, make sure the high-power devices like dehumidifier and lights get tapped off first in the chain...

That would be like 1440w which Im below. What you mean tapped off first? The setup will be like I wrote out. Lots of things plugged in but overal below 80% of what I intend to put on it.

And yea those are all good points about the propane Im definetly going to wonder what to get next when this craps out on me. Also wondered how serious the tip about old gas is. Its why I havent tested it yet I dont want it to sit for a year or waste run time.

I just mean having the high-power connections be as direct as possible to the generator. If you're having to daisy-chain stuff, have as few connection points between the source and the high-power devices as possible.

Yea the challenge is all the tents meeting in the center of room to connect to 4 receptacles extended to my from the generator, its a mess of cords. I tried thinking that through with that in mind but this was the best I could do.

Any suggestions Im all ears. Also trying to make it a quick switch when needed and some tents the outlet is behind and hard to reach.

I only have 4 receptacles so to some degree I have to daisy chain. Im not handy and wouldnt be suprised if there was a better way but this was best I can do.

Just ordered the bad boys. Was only one left of the adaptor but saved like 60$ overall on the cord and adapter. Now just need the power strips and cords to connect to that.

About to order the power strips and extention cords all 14 gauge 15a except instead of two 8’ cords I got a 10’ cord with three outlets so I can combine it since working with low watts.

Only thing left is cords to connect fridges 30’ away or so about 50w each I must take advantage of it. I hate losing food.

The freezer thaws a bit and half or more of my stuff just ends up tossed. Dont know till I eat it or already smell it while cooking that its bad.

can easily lose $200 in food in todays inflation. Would be awesome if that doesnt happen no more too.

Having a plan and emergency power setup for a perpetual grow is a vital part of the system. Its good that you are preparing, and getting quality stuff. Just keep it all to a minimum like weedstoner said, and only run with the cords during an outage. You'll be good. Don't overload either of the 120v circuits, and make sure you balance the total load between them the best you can.

Yea I see the adapter was 32$ I got for 18.99$ Yea the manual said to plug them in one red one green, one red one green. They make pretty much these cords/adapters in one piece they just quit making more than 25’.

No word on when theyll get more. Its a westinghouse, hope I got a good brand. Some reviews of duds but 99% good reviews.

Yea I was hoping this was for good reason. Forgot to mention some of the things included are my tv and ps4. So I can chill comfortably in an outage.

Im about at late flower any day now some storm warnings came on and I suddenly realized much work to do. But thanks to yalls help, especially Drop That Sound’s, it was a breeze.
