Excessive pressure could be it too. Too much heat and/or pressure gives you lower-grade returns anyway, ofc you know that. If you don't have a pressure guage, it's hard to tell how much you're applying. Fwiw, my presses are always between 2-3 tons. That's really the sweet spot.

For me, I just found that using that mold led to me stuffing too much into it. I have much better returns, and no blow-outs, using less material and stuffing the bags by hand/feel.
