What would you pick led or hps?

Have you ever tried to pick up a cat that has been sleeping in a bright sunbeam for awhile? They just melt! :) Anyway....yeah plants will grow under LEDs or HIDs just fine. I have no science to back it up. I'm just saying that, after growing for a long while, I believe that the plants "like"...

What would you pick led or hps?

Plants are pretty adaptable and will usually grow just fine under all kinds of light if the grower does a good job. I've used HID and I've used LED. I'll have to admit that I think the plants liked the directional-heat they were getting from the unshielded HID bulb(s). That's the thing that's...

Who has best blueberry strain? Not DJ Short's version.

Got some good smelling DJ Short's blueberry at a dispensary once....but when lit it up, it tasted like gunpowder! -not even kidding. And then recently, I was told that the DJ Short's blueberry might have contained some ruderalis genetics. I figure that's probably why it tasted like shit. I've...

    Is she ready my friends?

Depends on where on the plant the trichs were scoped. I used to harvest plants too early because I was scoping leaves and getting milk and amber, but the trichs on the bud material were clear.

    Generic Grove bags

My understanding is that this type of bag had, indeed, been used in the food packaging industry for quite awhile. I know I've bought packages of nuts and trail mixes and stuff like that and the packaging seems very similar -the idea being to make a material that blocks UV and allows for some...

What am I dealing with here?

One morning, I saw that a jumping spider (my favorite kind) had gotten himself stuck on one of my sticky traps for gnats. He was just on the edge and he looked pretty tired out from trying to get himself out of there. I took a Q-tip and a toothpick and carefully nudged him off of the trap and...

What am I dealing with here?

You bet! They eat all those other little nasty bugs and they have no interest in your plant whatsoever.

Should I mix happy frog an ocean forest for starting seeds?

Meh....I've mixed them together and added perlite, coco coire, worm castings. I never had any problem with it. Yeah it's kinda nute heavy (aka "hot"), but with the extra stuff to make it more open and airy, it's fine. I water to the point of excessive runoff every time....which depletes all the...

    Chocolate Thai

Upon reflection.... I'm not sure when the term "chocolate" got attached to Thai weed....or "Lemon", too. I guarantee that no one called it that in the 70's. It was Thai weed or Thai sticks -some of which were dipped in "first water" opium. Thai weed had a very distinctive smell.....It's been...

    Is this good?

Yeah I think that's too hot. They can withstand hot temperatures -some better than others, but it's not ideal to have the room too hot, generally speaking. I'm sure there are some Sativa-heavy lineages that came from plants that grew in very hot climates, though.

    Is this possible in veg?

I did not know that....but I'm glad you told me because I was considering buying some of those seeds....I want nothing to do with ruderalis hybrids. I know for a fact that DJ Short had nothing to do with "making" Blueberry. I used to get the old Blueberry skunk every now and then back in the...

    Is this possible in veg?

It's a straight male plant. If it is really a DJ Short F5 Blueberry, then it should not be auto flowering. Somehow, your light schedule must have been compromised.....?

Humidity, Burping, Curing - oh my!

The drying is where many people fail. Outside of using a Cannatrol, you need to dry the plants in a space where you MUST maintain a relative humidity of 60% and a temperature of 60 degreesF along with very light, random air movement. There's no fudging these conditions. When you dry correctly...

    no terps

All strains will be different and even the cultivars WITHIN a strain will be different. Different growers will get different results from the same clone...etc. However...you should be getting some smells from some of the strains you mentioned. I know that I have had grows where the strain starts...

Give me your ratings and receipts! Would love to hear everybodys favorite led brands?

I've bought lights from several companies over the years. I've had one fuse blow in my Nextlight Mini and that's the only problem I've ever had with any light. Once I determined it was a blown fuse, it took me a couple minutes to replace it. Too bad they went out of business. I heard they might...

    Best alternatives to maxi line?

Jack's 3-2-1 system is the best I've used. Master Blend is also very good. They are both 2-part systems, though, so mixing is kind of a drag, but not that big of a deal. I always pH everything going in and make sure it's all in that same range coming out, too. I grow in soil-less mix. First...

    Wtf is this?

Well, it looks similar to the type of burn a couple leaves on my plant got when they came into direct contact with one of the lenses on the LED. It looks like some type of physical damage to me. It doesn't look like a deficiency or a nute burn. *shrugs*

    Anyone use grove bags discuss...

I concur that Grove bags are pretty cool items to have if you grow. I do a 2-part method that incorporates the best of glass jars and the storability of the grove bags...Basically, I hang-dry my plants for 2-weeks at 60/60. After that they get trimmed and put into glass jars with a humidity...
