Question About Topping 6' Plants

This is my first grow after five years of being away from it, and apparently it is my best to date judging by the results so far. In just over two months from seed my Critical Kush plants are 6' tall, 4' wide, and growing. I plan to scrog them this weekend and flip them over into bloom within a week. I've let them veg a little longer than I planned to while trying to get my bloom room ready, but it will only increase their yield. I didn't expect them to get this big this fast. I am using two LEC315's and they are unbelieveable. Money well spent.

I topped the main stem midway through the life of each plant, so they have two main stems per plant. Of course, the two main stems are the tallest on each plant, and therefore soaking up light more than lower branches. I will fix this with the scrog somewhat, but I am wondering if topping the main branches will help slow their growth and increase the growth of the lower stems.

So here's my question. Would it help the lower branches grow taller and bud more if I top both of the main stems again before scrogging the plants this weekend? Or should I just go with what I have already done? Each plant already has about 30-35 bud sites, and I would be happy with that. More than I ever had in past grows when I wasn't checking PH, PPM, using distilled water, FPS, had high room temps, etc. This grow is like night and day from my past attempts. They were okay, but this is awesome!

Thanks in advance for any input.

Post some pictures. Seems kind of late to scrog. I think I'd supercrop, or just tie the tallest branches down (LST style) so they are lower than other branches. I'd start tying all the larger branches back, myself. The highest branches get the most hormones, so make sure there are many near the top. Even more important you can get the light close to a lot of vegetative matter if you have an even canopy. I get best yields that way. I wouldn't top this late. Those will be your best buds.

Thanks for the reply Deno. I realize it may be too late to do a traditional scrog, but this guy shows how he uses a lattice net to support his 6' plants. Seems like it would help the plant from needing to be tied up to prevent it falling all over the place during bloom.

haha - you've got a jungle going on there, don't you. You could use a scrog net, but you could do the same with string and LST. Notice how dense the top is compared to the rest. That's due to light intensity. Start pulling the branches down with strings to get an even canopy. Sculpt it. It will look bad for a day, but you'll be amazed at how fast these plants react. Bend those branches back, and drop the light to the distance you've got it now. Once the buds start weighing things down, use string to support them. You could string a net - that'd work too. Sculpt it.

Looks good, what ever you're doing - keep it up.

Good golly Miss Molly,
You're fat as a hog.
Good golly Miss Molly,
My brain's in a fog.
Well I'd better start cropping,
'Cuz it's much too late to scrog.

Just kidding, it's never too late to scrog lol. Pushed them down from 6.5-feet to under 5-feet. I'll push them down a little further over the next few days. I heard a little crunching, but I'm sure they'll recover. Pic below.

Definitely time for some bondage....
Growing tall plants indoors is a waste of resources-I would focus on growing a squat plant with multiple colas. I always mainline all of my girls on indoor grows-the time invested in training yields a larger harvest.

And don't be afraid to fold the branches/stems over to even out the canopy. These are some tough broads-they love the abuse...
