Autoflower Patio Grow

hey all,

About to order some seeds to start my first autoflower grow, just looking for some advice on what to order.. looking for the best genetics I can get a grip of, also kinda have a limited space outside (4x4x4) but I would like to maximize the grow space. Not sure if I should inquire about super autos or normal autos, due to the size of the space.. it will be my first outdoor auto grow. Ive grown both indoor and outdoor before with photo period plants but since I only have a space outside to grow in now (and it's small) just wanted to know what y'all thought about it.

Currently I have (3) 5 gallon pots and (4) 3 gallon pots, gonna be running FFOF soil w some advanced nutes. Let me hear your thoughts!

Mephisto Genetics are superb I'd also recommend fastbuds their quality is slightly better but no one beats mephistos customer service Mitch is great

Thanks for the suggestions, I will for sure check out Mephisto genetics and fastbuds. Also, would supplemental led strip lights running around the outside portion of the space help produce any significant changes in quality or should I not even bother?

Side lighting is only as beneficial as you let it be. Many people run side lighting but prune the lower part of the plants down to the stalk, making it redundant.

I use homemade reflectors covered with space blanket mylar that reflects 99% of the light from my 600 watt MH/HPS. I don't prune the lower branches much at all and I pick up an extra half-ounce per plant on average.

So it depends on how you do it. If you're going to prune the lower stalks, don't bother. If you're going to let them grow out a bit for some free buddage, go for it...but frankly, a good reflector is just as good for a fraction of the cost.

If I run side lighting it would be around the 2nd third of the plant (shining through the middle of the canopy,) I may run a small 24 watt led light over the top of the canopy too, not for the main source of light but again just to supplement during the late night/ early morning hours. I figure, why not ? any lighting could help. Plus I am going to deck the whole patio out in lights to mask the purple light. Maybe some Christmas lights or Halloween lights in addition. ill upload some pics in a couple weeks once I get it all set up after I am back from my honeymoon ;)

As stated, Mephistos are the cream of the auto world. I recommend contacting Mitch and explaining your set up. He will give you some smaller auto choices. Anything with "Sour" in the name should stay pretty squat. Ive grown Sour Crack and Sour Blues, both very good. I'd also stick with the 3 gallon pots, apposed to the 5, to help manage with height restriction.
Good luck on your grow!
