Welcome to RIU! I am in Cali too. Los Angeles area. There is too much weed out here.

I throw them in a glass of water and put it in my closet for about 4 days. Come back to check and they all sprouted. But sometimes seeds die and they do not pop. Sometimes they pop, but then they die in soil.
